VF5 gameplay movies (arc)

I'm sure VF5 will be a great game, I'm more of an ironfist fan myself so I'm more excited about next Tekken. However I must say that according to those videos the graphics doesnt look that hot to me, especially the backrounds seem to weaker than in DOA4, but I quess I need more and better quality footage, before making final conclusions.

I think the "problem" (which i don't think is a problem) is that VF by nature has a ring. Fall off ring and you lose. DOA is just a different fighter where you knock someone off a 100 foot bridge, you jump down to meet him in a lake under the bridge and keep on fighting like nothing happened...
I find VF's background as beautiful as you can get on the platform the game is running on, considering they are by nature, very limited compared to DOA.
The lighting alone gives VF a depth that is really missed on DOA games, whatever amount of polygons and whatever size backgrounds they end up with.

...If only the Mortal Kombat series could have gone/go a more photo-realistic route, as opposed to the cartoonish-style that graced the last XBOX1 games. Oh the teenage year memories come flooding back from the original 2D trilogy* :D

MK4 wasn't bad, either.

MK4? You mean the first 3D MK? I hated that game. For me it was the worst MK I ve ever playied.

The characters playied way to similar to each other, and the animations were bad.

Granted in paled somewhat in comparison to the heavyweight 3D fighters of the time in the visual department, and you could of argued that the gameplay did not have the complexity of a 'true' 3D fighter. But as a MK franchise played by a die-hard fan it was great, it retained the 'feel' of the original games unlike Deadly Alliance and Deception...

Yeah sometimes i wish MK was a bit more realistic, like mk1's art style. I would settle for MK-Gold's style. It seems when MK hit xbox/ps2 the characters all gained 45 pounds of muscle and new crazy costumes. Dont get me wrong I like the new MK's and armageddon should be interesting, but It's like out of all of the characters, stryker and Shao Kahn are the only ones who look like their orginal selves. But thats another story...lemme stop. :)
