unreal 2007 on the x360 ?

I think that as far as any official announcements go Gears of War has been announced for the Xbox 360 and UT 2007 for the PC.

Mike Capps said UT 2007 is shipping first for the PC then XBox 360 and PS3.
Gears of War is going to XBox 360 first and then PC, no PS3 version.

Try as I might, I can't find Sweeny saying that UT07 is coming to Xbox. He is always talking about UE3. It sounds like the interviewer asked "PC and Xbox 360" question and then interrupted him mid-answer.

BTW, am I the only person who is far less excited about UT07 for PS3 then GOW on Xbox? Maybe it's my PC background but it seems that third-person shooter on a console is far more attractive then a fast-paced multiplayer FPS.

Is it Unreal 2007, or Unreal Tournament 2007?
Edit: Seems like it's the Tournament. I'd also preferred it was a singleplayer fps, the footage shown at E3 looked more like from a singleplayer adventure, but as it was more just an Unreal Engine tech demo, that doesn't tell much about the gameplay.
Multiplayer fps's bore me.

unreal tourny 2k7 would be nice on the x360 thats why i'm trying to figure it out . as i would think gow is geared towards solo play and squads where unreal tourny 2k7 would be deathmatches and basicly tons of multi play features

OK, multiple sources now, so it looks like this rumor has some legs.

Funny, during E3 Sweeny had stated in an interview that:

GoW is a Xbox 360 exclusive (i.e. typical MS exclusive meaning PC and Xbox) and UT2007 was for PC and PS3. If this rumor is true (if) I guess they probably only mentioned the PS3 at the time because of their prominence at the Sony E3 show. Bad form to show off your uber title--all the great pub for the game AND your engine--and then say, "Uh yeah, it will be on Sony's PS3 and on Sony's competitors machine".

Good news though: This title should give us a decent benchmark of the two platforms to some degree. Yeah there is a lot of politics (MS chose UE3 as the exclusive engine for MGS, Sony gave A+ gaming airtime to Epic at E3, Epic has close ties to Nvidia), and there are always the issues of certain game genres doing better on different platforms due to how they use the HW. e.g. UT games rarely have a lot of physics objects and world interactivity because they are fast online games. Hard to pass a lot of netcode about physics objects (see: HL2DM). From the little we saw, while it looked great, the environment seemed really dead to me. That aside, the game may give us an idea of what SOME developers are able to get out of each system, especially the ever growing number of devs using UE3.

well it looks like its a timed exclusive from what they are saying in those threads . They said its first for pc . SO mabye there is like a 6 month delay . pc then 6 months later ps3 then 6 months later x360 .

However i don't think this would be a good judge of system performance. At least depending on how epic's development teams work with each other . Epic is already making gow for x360 for a 2006 launch. It sounds like unreal 2007 will hit the consoles in 2007 . Which would mean this is the second game they worked on for the x360 and the first they did for the ps3 . So by going with that it wont be a fair comparison

Freeman: Okay, and will the PC version of Unreal 2007 differ from the Xbox 360 version?

Sweeney: Well sure, PCs...

Freeman: [interrupting]: I mean, talking graphics-wise.

Sweeney: Well, the PC is a more scalable platform, so it'll run on $500 PCs and it'll scale down to the Xbox 360 and it'll run on a $3000 SLI machine with dual kickass Nvidia cards in it and it'll run with even more detail. So we'll be all over the place.

PC graphics better thant nextgen so soon ? how could that be ?.

It's not Just with PC's memory advantage?

well

athlon 4200 dual core
2 gigs of system ram
2x 520s 512 megs of ram each
1 x ppu 128 megs
new sound blaster sound card (Forgot the name )

WHile the athlon 64 wont compare to a cell or x360 cpu the ppu will help out . The 2 520s not only have 512 megs for thier own use but the fillrate will most likely crush the xenos and the rsx in fillrate . The ppu should be able to assist the cpu and the sound card will also be taking a huge load off the cpu .

Btw you should be able to build this monster this year .

There are already rumors of the G70 (aka GF 7800) will have 3 models (plain, GT, GTX) and the GTX will offer SLI.

IF (big if), as some have indicated, the RSX and G70 are very similar, then 2x G70's in SLI should have 2x the performance.

And since UT2007 is a cross platform title I doubt it will take a huge advantage of the PS3's CPU horsepower--how could it and still be a faithful crossplatform title? It may do some extra bells and whistles a typical PC may not be able to do, but I think that may be tied to their use the Ageias PPU for extra physics/umf (which is said will not affect gameplay). Basically cross platform titles are write once, port many. Changing up the gameplay to take advantage of a system is, well, time consuming and makes the game less of a port and more like a new title.

So if UT2007 does not use much processing power, I can see how a $3000 G70 SLI rig could look a lot better. Yes, hard to imagine at this point, but that is always the case. Hardware wise, consoles are always past fairly quickly.

What does not pass is the fact 1st party games exploiting the closed box environment taking full advantage of the processing power and GPU will look better than your typical PC game for about 2 years. The last great barrier between PCs and consoles was Resolution--and that is no longer the case.

Hard to believe, but in a couple years PC gamers should be treated to even nicer stuff than what we are seeing for the consoles. Now THAT is awesome! 8)

Ps- Of course the rumored G70 runs at 430MHz and the RSX at 500MHz, but the RSX is coming out next spring at 90nm, so my guess is the G70 refresh will be about as fast. Just a guess of course.

yea but it could allways be a case of 32 vs 24 pipelines :)

UT2007 is coming out in 2006, so i think it is fairly safe to assume that it will come on all almost at the same time (and high end PC will be more powerful than consoles at that time, at least more RAM and better GPU)

where was the statement implying timed exclusive anyway? the J Allard interview mentioning GoW was pretty clear about that, but nothing on UT2007
