Uncharted 3

Hows the difficulty? I played U2 on Hard on the first playthrough and it wasnt hard at all (minus some bulletsponges until you get better weapons), cant imagine how easy "Normal" mode would be.
U1`s "Hard" and "Normal" mode were correctly named though, I hope its somewhere along those lines

Hmm... they will need to rethink the formula to bring it back to U1 level of combat. We seldom see Indiana Jones open fire on an army. I don't mind expanding on the stealth and intelligent AI though.

But U2 did have a super slow start. I mean, the train wreck was awe inspiring, but the whole Istanbul and Borneo sections were boring as hell. The real U2 starts in Nepal, thats where u get ur grin back on your face :p ! I dread replaying Istanbul and Borneo, I just start from Nepal onwards, whenever I do. Come to think of it, that has happened quite a few times. ;)

Bu.. bu.. but, the first part connect us with Chloe more. Without that slow start, Chloe is just another tall girl with a gun.

OMG, keep Indy out of here - this is still a game where you kill 1000 guys until the ending credits :p
In the case of U2 it wouldve been enough to make enemies really punish you for seeing you in the open, give Drake less health and make enemies "pre-aim" at your last known whereabout. stick out too long or too often in the same spot and you`re dead. "Hard" wasnt too bad in U2 (if it were the normal difficulty), but I still could easily directly run up to enemies and beat em up, I only imagine how "Normal" would be....
you had a nice advantage over U1 that the enemies dint magically know your whereabout, this often made combat in U1 hard.

Atleast allow to skip the "tutorial" on further playthroughs.

Gosh, you guys are crazy. I thought the build-up was perfect. Sure I can understand that when you do replays you may want to play the bits which are the most heavy on the gameplay, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I hate games that are full-on from start to finish. Heck, not even God of War 3 is like that, fortunately. ;) Though of course, at 36 I'm a bit of an old git ...

The problem was the game was holding my hand too much, I didn't even have grenades till mid-Borneo although there were many situations already where I felt the need to use them.
As for Chloe,I never got "connected" to her, she is still a tall girl with a gun to me;). Totally uncharismatic  ! How I hated her parts and waited with baited breath for Elena to arrive on the scene. Elene , on the other hand, is my sweet love of Uncharted ! She's da girl of the series. i hate Chloe, don't want to see her ever again !

@Arwin: I am getting old too (but not as old as you Ha Ha !:devilish:) ! But I think that hasn't much to do with the opening of Uncharted 2 . The openeing was perfect, mind you. But the build -up felt a tad too long, cos after all I am here to play a game, and if you don't let me play for too long, you make me well.....uncomfortable ! Even Kojima let you skip the first mission Briefing in MGS4 to get you faster into the gameplay.

Its great to tell a story, even SOTC had a loooooong intro, but once it gets the controller into my hands and have me pressing buttons, then the gameplay opens up immediately !In SOTC, you can do everything you can, as soon you start playing. Getting to that point is a long journey of cutscenes, but thats okay as anyways I am just watching, but when I am playing the game opens up the whole bag to me, all the mechanics. Uncharted2 doesn't do that. it has one loooooong tutorial which isn't needed. The actual gameplay kicks in only in Nepal, might as well tell me the story of Istanbul in just cutscenes. I can see they wanted to introduce stealth, but it became longer and lesser exciting than they wanted it to be or expected it to be. And, BTW, I can understand stealth in one on-screen text message too  !

Sigh... I was all hyped to buy this next week when I got paid, but my computer died on me yesterday so now it looks like I'm buying a new power supply instead. At least, I hope it's just the power supply!

Though I haven't completed the game yet, I've run into a few sections that were fairly challenging--as in, yes I died several times and had to keep pressing.

This game is getting better and better.

Never tried it. TBH I stick to the familiar when I play online.

Hmph, I thought so ! :devilish:

I highly recommend to give the U2 co-op mode a try. It's brain dead to get into, and fun while it lasts. That's all there is to it. No need to do any fancy mechanics, and therefore it is familiar to everyone.

I don't know what else to say man. I don't remember U2 having a slow start too. Thought everything went hunky dory. I actually liked sneaking around the museum, since it's very different from the original U1 experience (Pirates Ahoy !).

Some players seem to find issues with the aiming system in the single player campaign.

He reffers to not being able to freely aim diagonally but instead of making circles while aiming with L1, it makes squares. And it seems to be different from the aiming in Uncharted 2.

That would suck, I think. But is he the only one who complained ? Is his controller working fine ?

Nope he is not the only one. some other people also complaied about the reticule. you cannot aim in a diagonal motion which sometimes is difficult it seems when ennemies move in motion. The reticule moves in a square shaped motion when trying to use diagonals.

During the U3 beta I also felt changes in the aiming, I struggled to keep the reticule aligned with an opponent.I thought first it was due to recoil of weapons but the latest PS+ beta felt different in the controls as stated below.

I'm not the only one bothered by the handling ..

"Moving the crosshairs up, down, left and right is simple enough, but attempting smooth diagonal motion is nearly impossible. The crosshair seems to only move in tiny squares"

"Aiming and firing the person is not as smooth as it is in Uncharted 2 Multiplayer. Plz ND consider this and dont let this happen in Uncharted 3 Multiplayer"

http://forums.naughtydog.com/t5/Multiplayer-Beta-Discussion/New-Aiming-System/td-p/318585
"I agree completely. It feels a bit off, in Uncharted 2 you have so much more control and the accuracy so much better. I turned aiming senstivity up all the way but it still just didn't feel like the control you have in the previous games."

http://forums.naughtydog.com/t5/Mul...he-Uncharted-2-aiming-system-back/td-p/313101
"The aiming for this beta is a lot different from U2's. It feels worse. Please, ND, bring back Uncharted 2's aiming system! I think Uncharted 2's aiming system is better because the sensitivity from moving the stick a little bit was not that different from moving it all the way. In U3, the difference in sensitivity is a lot more. "

"I agree man, U2's aiming and reticles were perfect. U3's are sloppy and so terrible I'm actually quite worried that the single player is going to suffer..."

Nice ! That Black-Art_Viper dude. That's the kind of people ND and Sony should involve for these betas. People like me didn't even notice it. ^_^

My local gamestop already sold me UC3?!?!?! What the....went there to pre-order...now I have it :D

Yap, people in the GAF Official Thread are already giving their impressions. I bailed from that thread immediately.

I don't know why but I still think I enjoyed Uncharted more than Uncharted 2 maybe it was the newness of the title (I didn't do a single second of multi) I'm considering grabbing a PS3 again and U3 given all of its praise (I'd also regain all of my PSN content by doing so). I imagine U3 will look quite good on my screen though to be honest I think at my seating distance and screen size that most games have lost their luster for me but adventure games are my second favorite (maybe favorite on console) genre so it rarely matters how they look it's just a bonus. November is so close and Black Friday feels like it's right around the corner maybe I should wait until then.
I vacillate between inFamous and Uncharted being my favorite PS3 title but I think I'm going to finally crown Uncharted as number one.

I won't give any impressions to spoile you guys...just a suggestion: buy it...now!!!
Damn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wont be playing it until Nov 3, since I ordered it at Amazon. After having to wait weeks for SotC to show up in stores, I thought I will spare me the trouble this time. Now this damn game teases me at every store window - Whatever I do, I do it wrong!
