Uncharted 3

Stealth can be fun, but forced stealth can be very frustrating. I prefer situations where stealth is an option, but detection does not amount to instafail. There were already segments in UC2 like this and I enjoyed them much more than the Turkish Palace.

Agreed !

The only sexism I remember was Chloe slapping Nathan's ass, and both of them complimenting each others' behind.

I want either less shooting (a couple of tough encounters over mindless hordes please) or at least a smaller gulf between Nathan Drake the joking mass murderer during gameplay and Nathan Drake the charming rogue during cut-scenes.

That has always been my biggest issue with the games. The guy slaughters an entire army just because there's money in it for him and then he's cracking jokes. I find that kinda stuff incredibly off-putting.

If we have more Sully, we will have more sexism
I forgot about that. U3 needs more Sully as well.

This is just sexy.

OK, minor spoiler here.
The whole series have only two female characters, both of whom are protagonists. Yet you kill thousands of evil men.

MP has many female skins for heroes, none for villains. A little weird considering the popularity of the game among female gamers.

Yeah both games were disjointed in that sense. Nate is constantly hammered by automatic rifles and shotguns, but he takes one pistol shot to gut and it's curtains.

This is a problem with most shooters I guess, but I hold UC to a higher standard :yep2:. The solution is to not show blood spurts as Nate take fire. Instead leave it the way it is with the color draining out of the screen as Nate takes fire, and when your "health" runs out that means one of the bullets actually connected. It might sound silly, but it makes more sense than Nate being clearly shot hundreds of times without so much as a scratch on him.

Ah yes, I was wondering whether the villian will be a woman this time round. ^_^

If so I guarantee she will be sexy. And I like sexy woman villains

i wish they would license their engine for other PS3 game devs. graphics were pretty amazing for what the hardware is. nice smooth graphics, clear, very detailed view distances..etc.
It really is everything that a good video game should be, only to better if it was within a sandbox style environment. But from a pure gameplay perspective, like GOW3, Resistance 2..etc. its more fun to play that the majority of PC games out there despite their overpriced hardware capable graphics.

If this quote is any indicator, likely the graphics cannot be much better, but their already pretty darn good really.
it was revealed that Uncharted 2 uses between 90 to 100% of the Cell's processor and uses all 25GB of a single Blu-ray Disc

UC2 may max out Cell, but that does not mean they can't make better use of it with UC3. "Work smarter not harder"

This is a question i had for quite a while. Does anyone know anything about the journal reference to the "slippery naked guy" is about? In drakes journal, he has a page with a "scare O meter" one is sully's mustache, other is the snow demon...but i cannot figure out the Slippery naked guy? is that an easter egg, an enemy i missed or just a joke? the drawing looked creepy but unless i missed it, didnt seem to match the rest of the journal's references.

The monsters from Uncharted 1?

Is Fallon a gaming nerd or something?

I don't think you can get a plasma under 40 inches now, nevermind 3D plasma.

Indiana Jones I recall only one supernatural scene at the end of the first movie when they opened the ark, nothing like that in the sequels -- I don't know about the sequel they made a couple of years ago but that's supposedly really bad.

Yeah I do recall the discussions about cracking wise and killing hordes of people in U2. What brought it up is that in the early levels of the game, he goes out of his way not to kill, just knock them out. Then later, he just goes on a spree pretty much but at that point, stealth is out the window and it's about survival.

For a video game, it might not have been an issue except for the script and dialog which talks about not murdering early on and then is jokey most of the way through. Other games, you don't have this light, wisecracking vibe so the killing in these shooter games don't register as being a big deal that an affable protagonist is spilling so much blood.

Yap I am thinking of 40+ " 3D Plasma TV. ^_^
I can't find a 30+" 3D LCD/LED monitor anyway. If I go up to 40", I might as well consider Plasma.

All Indiana Jones movies are supernatural to various degrees: Searching for the Ark, the Holy Grail, the Sankara stones in the Temple of Doom (to prevent the revival of some Hindi god), and the Crystal Skull (aliens !).

Ummm... ripping out the beating heart of a man that survives this procedure, mind control, holy grail, a centuries old knight, people aging decades in seconds?

Although I would love some more tough encounters, the hordes of enemies have never really bothered me. Then again I love the gun fights in the game, and the temple shootout and heavy-armored guys.

As far as the disconnect of who Drake is I don't see it. Maybe it was in the 1st Uncharted, but Uncharted 2's reasoning felt about right since he's was dealing with war-criminals. I don't think Naughty Dog should sacrifice that part of the gameplay completely to give-in to the story's framework, it's the reason why I wouldn't touch Enslaved with a ten-foot pole.

While it's unlikely, I hope Uncharted 3 has some side-missions or puzzle-challenges. I can understand that they want to keep a certain pace with the story by making the existing puzzles less difficult, but I'd be up for some optional challenges with harder platforming and puzzles.

It's a case of if you don't kill them, they will kill you. ^_^
Try stop shooting in the game, and see what the enemies will do to Nate.

The only weird cases are one or two killing stealth moves in unprovoked situation. Remove the stealth moves, we'd be fine.

What are you saying? I played 60% of the game using stealth !!! I did that in UC1 too, but there were fewer places to do it there. I loved the fact that it doesn't need to be a firefight if you don't want it to. I cleasred the train wreck with stealth alone and it was damn fun to see them totting guns, while I took them out one by one.

I WANT STEALTH ! Its part of the "play it the way you want" philosophy in Uncharted.
As for everything else, don't listen to them complainers ND, there's a reason ur game is called the best game this gen, cos it works, everything including the jokes, the characters, the romance, the non serious tone, the supernaturals, everything works ! Just go ahead and let your imagination and programmers go wild. I am sure these naysayers will also be standing in lines , salivating, when your game releases :devilish: !

Huh? Were we watching the same Indiana Jones movies?

In RotlA, you have the ghosts at the end of the film when they open it.

In ToD, you've got 3 stones with the power to impact the vegitation of the surrounding area, as well as a man who can remove the hearts of people (while they're still alive) and put voodoo spells on folks to control them (after drinking blood I think?). That's pretty far fetched and super natural.

Then, in TLC, there's the sole surviving member of the Crusade, thousands of years old I think, and the cup of jesus that grants immortal life. Kinda super natural I think ;)

The franchise is established in it's direction, playing off of popular lore (cursed gold, legend of the "yeti"). I'm actually excited to see how they tackle their next game with regards to the super natural.

It's fine if you can't see it. No need to lash out, though.

Right, so you don't know it's shopped or anything, you're just saying it to say it. Good we established that.

 I meant remove the 1-2 random stealth moves that kill the target (e.g., pull the enemy off the cliff). They can keep the other stealth moves, or even add new ones.
