Uncharted 3

Above all, what stands out for me here is the quality of the blacks, they are amazing and I've never seen anything like it in games. Typically the kind of stuff that strikes you only once you've seen it done right, I guess, but it looks amazing. Same for the hands, they look amazing. The image quality is quite clearly ahead of the animation, I'd say.

Baldness by the way is more stereotypical of people who are to be considered serious fighters, I'd say ( though of course they remain convenient for processing power preservation purposes as well).

Proper HDR pipeline and filmic tone mapping ;)
Every game should have it (or at least nearly every game - of course those with more stylized art direction might not need it)

I'm sticking to the line 'in an ideal, unlimited resources world, every game should have it'. ;) But yeah, it looks great.

I just realised what struck me here as the biggest weakness - the pupils not dilating. Particularly when we are looking at the 'villeine' as she sees the ring, there should have been pupil dilation. I hope they will still put that in, would greatly increase the dramatic effectiveness of the cutscenes.

English please !

I could tell colors look more subdued compared to U2, is that good or bad (Kinda glad that there is no neon light here) ? There is a sense of depth to the scene. Also like how individual effects don't steal the attention. It's one coherent picture. :p

That reminds me - I heard that Uncharted 3 had 3D support in the cards on day one of development, so it could be interesting to look at the game to see some evidence of 'heightened awareness' of that in the design.

Also, I see that there's a 3D trailer for Uncharted 3 on the PSN store. Would love to get some impressions on that ...

So now we've got Jason Statham, Helen Mirren and who's that in the suit.....James Bond ?

Only thing better than this would be if the treasure hunting takes place in England and Lara Croft makes an appearance.

Found the 3D Trailer on youtube ... watched it with my red/cyan glasses ...

And what would you say on the perception of 3D in this trailer?

I prefer the cross eye technique, which I successfully used with other 3d videos. In this case, I was able to get the "middle image" but I didn't perceive any 3d. :???:

I've grabbed the cyan-red glasses from our compositors and checked it - almost nothing there. Then I've checked an Avatar trailer with the same option and there was a lot of depth. So it's the video that's not good enough, dunno how much it has to do with conversion.

That's what I meant.

By the way, on Nvidia's site I can't find those "cyan-red" glasses you're all talking about... Are they expensive? What graphics card do I need?

May be it would show up in SonyStyle stores. I went there after KZ3 launched, and there's no KZ3 3D demo. :( U3 should be more family oriented.

Cyan-red stuff is the simple carboard cutout stuff that's given with magazines and such. False color "glasses" and so on.

if this game is rendered at full stereoscopic 1280X1440 in 3D, what is the chance of 2D version running at something like 1440X1080 or higher?

That's a big "if" there. As far as I know 3D support hasn't even been confirmed officially yet.
