According to EA.

"“ I'm sure that Nintendo already has a number of phenomenal design concepts built around 3D Pointing or Touch Sensitivity for their 1st party games. Our developers are inspired and excited by the new controller's features.â€￾

Initially we thought she might have been referring to the Nintendo DS touch screen, but after clarification, Muller said she was referring to a function of the Nintendo Revolution controller.

“[touch sensitivity] is related to what Nintendo may have in development for use around their Revolution controller.â€￾ Explained Muller."

I agree another quality verificaiton would help this but it really wouldnt suprise me too much if true. Back when they were showing the controller (some called the wand) with an analog stick extension, I can imagine them having a touch sensitivity type controller extension as well. Hopefully (E3 maybe) we will hear more details. I know I'm looking forward to E3 because there looks to be many announcements from all sides of upcoming and hopefully some revolutionary ideas (both hardware and software) in the coming generations for all next gen players.

Agreed, but this would have to somehow detect pressure sensitivity by merely your grip, a touch, or force of movement, no? Interesting rumor nonetheless, we all knew EA was already onboard & keenly interested.

Very interesting, this make me remember those would threads that some company had presented some screens that could make that are touch sensitive and could give some sensations like resistense and in their press release they speak of consoles too.Still it seems a bit to costly for Rev.

that doesn't make sense, because a rev remote can function like a DS or a touchscreen. Seems like overkill.

I thought about that as well and if you read the article over there is nothing in it explicitly stating that Nintendo has create a peice of hardware for touch sensitivity. It just say's Nintendo has been working on touch sensitivity ideas. So this could end up being non news for the more informed, but news for those who never thought of using the Rev controllers 3D motion sensing that way.

That link just re-posts the original interview/quote. I'd say we need more sources for any form of confirmation.

How would something like this work? Maybe if they expect you to hold the controller with two hands, but if you hold it the normal way, there's already a button wherever your fingers are.

Possibly it could detect where on the controller you hold it, like if you grip it low or high, or how hard you squeeze it... This sounds a bit far-fetched to my ears, but I won't say nuttin' until I know more, should it prove to be true at all that is. :)

Meh...I'm bored. Who is this L-B?

Analog buttons ? (pressure sensitive/touch sensitive)

I think we heard about that kind of things a good while ago, could be nice.
