Tomb Raider: Underworld

That's weird. I posted that message with a link too which I don't now see. I must have miss-clicked, with the two threads below each other in the new posts view. Sorry guys!

Here's a user level from Kuwait that uses the song. You should check it out - it looks pretty cool and shows how much smoother the final version looks (youtube high-quality available). It's about Kuwait apparently. I also really like the Youtube comments, for some reason comments in Arabaic characters just look awesome, and the idea that user content is going to be so varied and from all over the world is awesome.

LOL  Arabic content in Lara? Now, what would that be? Her.... !

Was wondering, too. Maybe his post actually was meant for another forum/another thread.

Just doesn't seem to fit in here.

Furthermore he said there is this and that and you should look at this and that, but there is no link, no video, no picture or whatever ;).

Any idea on console framerate SMM? :)
It's 30. I've seen it remain pretty much constant, save for things that happen when you're not actually playing (e.g. in the OS sub-menus, enumerating savegames, etc.).

IGN actually did a preview, btw, and there are some gameplay video clips.

Also a few additional ones I didn't see in the IGN preview --

Since I knew it would come up at some point since it's pretty much a predetermined rule, I figured I might as well start the ball on this.

I can't quite seem to find quite dead-on comparisons, but here goes

For some reason or other, the PS3 shot was captured with Lara swinging in the wrong direction. Ummmm... I mean, that's the difference with the PS3 version. The level designers for the PS3 build were ummm... left-handed, and so... ummm... the levels are backwards.

*in Yakov Smirnov voice* -- "In Soviet Russia, grapple swings from you!"

Of course, the fact that the PLS is turned on in the PS3 snap and not in the 360 snap means that there is an additional lightsource (and haze) in the PS3 screenshot which is a large contributor to the color difference.

 Thanks SMM, keep the images coming. If there's no PS3 demo, you might want to post more PS3 shots and videos to get people familiar with the PS3 build (vs the other games). People are generally more negative when they can't eyeball a product of unknown quality.

Being not into scary games, I have decided to delay Dead Space purchase, and buy Lara instead; but I think I may be the minority.

PLS?

edit: oh the flashlight :p

(Mind switching the images to links?)

Well, if it's any consolation --
When asked if there is a chance the demo will appear on PS3, Lindstrom replied: "I'm not entirely sure. I've been talking to brand, and I don't think there's a final answer on that yet."

Hmm... I am not sure a late demo will help increase sales much (compared to more PS3 hands on videos and screenshots). By that time, the consumers would be familiar with the gameplay. Demoes seldom deliver on the full playing experiences anyway.

If I were them, I'd consider building something exclusive to the PS3 (e.g., have a Home mode like Buzz!). The game does not have multiplayer, but it should be possible to think of a Home related marketing MP mini-game, together with PS3 videos. But that's just me.

All the best !

Thanx a lot SMM for screens, and this game come to my list.

( im old TR fan and i love this franchise since first tittle in 1996)

Ditto. I'm very much looking forward to this. This might be the first Tomb Raider since a long time. (BTW: I still play the classics on PSone through PS3 emulation :D)

Here's one straight off the PS3 build (you should be able to see PS3 button icons in case you doubt it) --

1up show segment --

And I think we're finding this time around that we are doing more in terms of marketing and merchandising than I'd normally associate with anything Eidos... save maybe for Kane and Lynch which probably put more forward on the online front than we're currently doing for TR:U. Still, the overall advertising/merchandising budget is still probably bigger than all previous TRs combined, which should help in a more general sense as far as holding onto that prime real estate. Though as far as PS3 specifically, that's probably not going to be affected any more or less than any other at this point.

The way our content builds and setups work, from the time to we hear about the possibility of a PS3 demo, building the demo itself could be done in about 3 hours... but then there would be the approval process which raises the time from 3 hours to about 3 days. All said about demos, though... even though they may not tell you much overall, I don't believe for a second that many people will go into a demo giving it that much of the benefit of doubt unless they were willing to give it the benefit of the doubt before even playing the demo. Basically, for those who aren't going to approach a demo with an open mind, the demo is probably going to be viewed as highly representative. The fact that our demo is more or less one level out of the actual game also doesn't make the case for it being a minor representation.*

* To be accurate, it's basically the Thailand level, but the demo stops short of the big major puzzle for that level so as to leave out the big spoilers.

Cool, won't make a difference to me anyway. :)
