No, Tagrineth said the guy actually tried the games. Admit it, Square games usually have a touch of what I like to describe as "magic". Maybe it´s the production values, or the fantastic music, or memorable characters, but it´s there. That´s Square´s trademark, maybe that´s what attracts him to them (for example, I´ve known people who like Nintendo plattformers, and rarely like other plattformers, even after trying them. Also, when I tried Rayman 2 didn´t feel nowhere near as attracted to the game as when I tried Mario 64).
And face it, many RPGs outside of FF feature asstastic graphics, a crappy score, rough dialogue, a story that is nowhere near as prominent as it is in FFs.
