TIme mag on zelda

You know, I was going to post a big refutal to Grall´s big bunch of nonsense, because FF happens to be one of my favorite series, and I think they´re incredible games (Oh, and congratulations to the people currently involved and that have been involved in their creation). But then I wondered "Why bother? Everyone thinks they´re right and nothings going to change anyway."
So to avoid unnecesary typing, I´ll just say this: the person that thinks FF doesn´t have any gameplay is just being stupid, fact. FFX is a fantastic experience, not just a game.
And BTW, you can go to every single place you´ve visited in the game, except for Zanarkand from a 1000 years ago, for obvious plot reasons.

Yes a fantasic experiance just like watching a movie . I don't feel like i'm interacting in a movie . But i should feel like i'm interacting in the game. I think people have diffrent tastes and some of those tastes are influanced by media .

yeah it all comes down to tastes i guess... people who like to read books and watch movies that actually involve u in the story are more likely to be into a Final Fantasy type of game (which by the way i do not consider a non-interactive movie, just a huge game with a huge story line and LOADS of things to DO... see, there is stuff to DO, that makes it interactive)...

people who go to the movies just to watch things like XXX or Spiderman to have a fun afternoon will be more involved in a less story driven kind of game....

i'm currently playing through Guilty Gear X2 for example, and i'm only doing the Story mode. it's a very hard task since there are 3 paths for every character, with more than 20 characters... but i would not play it otherwise, i would not be involved so much in the game... of course i will keep playing the game after finishing it with every character and after i got all the secrets, but thats just because it's such a FINE game....

i played through the story mode of Tekken4 and never touched since i finished it with the last character...

Such a great rpg. But then again all of sega's rpgs are great. I've never been disapointed in them . Sure some of them could have been better but not much . Sorta like ultima ... the only bad on was the 9th

Hmm... I barely played PDS, just the intro part at Epcot once... came off VERY impressed after running through all the tutorials.

While there are other games that are much more involving than Final Fantasy, I do have to point out that FFX's battle engine is a whole lot more tactical than previous entries.

It's all subjective.

I know one person who has played through and loved every Final Fantasy released in the US thus far...

...and yet, he hated Breath of Fire 1 and 2, thought Panzer Dragoon Saga was ridiculous, thought Suikoden was terrible. And so on.

I've tried to get him into other RPG's but he hates any and all non-Square RPG's. He's reluctant to try Xenosaga now, because the series started with Square but Saga is by NAMCO IIRC.

He also scored 1600 on his SAT and had a 4.1 GPA at a private school which caps your GPA at 4.1, before you say 'he must be stupid or something'.

Impressive. I got a 1470 on my sats but then again i fell asleep through 20 mins of it. Thank god my ex woke up up during it . Anyway you can be very smart and still be what they call a "fan" boy. IF all he likes is square rpgs and wont give any other rpgs a chance then that is what he is. I have played the first 9 final fantsys (up to 8 fully completed )

No, but I don't remember my scores either... Didn't really matter since I went to school in Japan anyways...

Note the part of my own text I left.

He gives them a chance. He doesn't enjoy them.

Man the guy if he is real, is a closed minded lil freak. Its like saying I dont like Steven Speilberg movies cuz he is jewish.
I bet if you gave him suikoden originally and told him it was done by square he would of loved it.
Its cuz of ppl like that the stupid square is still pumping out sequels. Not that I dont think they are okay but god dammit its time to stop sometimes.

I suppose they´re all sequels because the same main characters, the same stories, the same battle systems, events, there´s the same voice acting in every game and the music is always the same...

Learn to respect the work and tastes of other people. Suikoden 2 sucked IMO, it didn´t appeal to me, but you don´t see me saying that Konami sucks, do you?

This is what tag said . The boy is a close minded if he only likes square rpgs. Thats like saying i only like hot dogs from the kart on 44th street in new york and thus only eat those hot dogs out of the zillians that exist
