Ciri makes the most sense to take up the reigns. The romance options should be interesting. Lighting looks very good but character models don’t appear to be on the same level as Marvel 1943.

Wonder how much Nvidia paid for them to mention that it was pre-rendered on an “unannounced RTX GPU”

The parts of the Withcer 3 I disliked the most was when playing as Ciri.

And they have a long tradition of making GC trailer that does not match in-game graphics:

Disappointed Ciri is main character as she is boring comparing to witty Geralt but we will see. Maybe she will not be all that serious and angry all the time.

LOL, I thought the cinematic pre rendered cutscene on unannounced RTX GFX card, line I read somewhere was some joke.

Hope they write a good story and don't uglify Ciri, also it isn't some launch time disaster like Cyberpunk.

And why would they? Somehow they were able to write multiple layered characters of all stripes. But this will be different exactly how?

Cool the witcher 3 Ciri becomes witcher ending was my fave. I'm sure her gameplay will be fine, they probably couldn't make her gameplay in 3 that deep seeing it was a very minor part of the game. It should let them expand the combat a bit more seeing her magic is way more powerful than geralts and his signs.

People seemed to have jumped past the more interesting fact with the rtx gpu thing, that they have working silicon??? the leakers really failing this gen. Probably an nvidia sponsored game, full raytraced mode out the gate. I'm gonna need a new gpu.

If they’re announcing at CES in a few weeks it’s fair to assume they had working silicon many months ago.

The issue with the Ciri sequences in TW3 was that they took you out of the character progressions/role-playing loop. Nothing to do with the character itself IMO.

Not accusing you of this at all, but all the insecure guys having meltdowns online because they "have to play as a woman" are pretty hilarious.

It was boring gameplay, nothing to do with that the pixels were "female"

Yeh only just saw that news a minute ago, so yeh not quite as intriguing. It's still fascinating that they are out there and leakers seem to have had no info, although I don't actively track that either so maybe off here aswell. Wonder how long some developers have had the cards.

Given the audience on these forums yes the discussions leans more towards in game real time rendering.

But in general while CDPR does push out graphics to some extent (ever since the Witcher 2 with that Uber mode) for most of the audience their games primarily draw in terms of world building, characters and story. These types of trailers are still very relevant for types of games for the audience.

This is one of the dumbest things I've read on this forum, and I've been on and off around this place for almost 18 years. But the most amusing thing is people looking at The Witcher property and thinking to themselves: yes, this world is all about conservative values and glorification of bigotry. Have you read the books or played the games? The whole backdrop is senseless racism against non-humans, the damage imperialism does to the continent and how greedy, morally corrupt humans are the greatest monsters of all. Witcher was progressive before most people outraged by this trailer were born.

I think some folks were too distracted by boobs to notice.

Trailer itself looked pretty nice and I do like Ciri as a character in that world, don't want to be her though and would have preferred a new Witcher game with a blank slate character if Geralt is done.

And people who dislike blank slate characters would complain for getting that. You can't satisfy everyone. Either CDP thought that Ciri is a strong enough character to carry the sequel or this is not reflective of everything that's going to be in the game and merely serves as an anchor for those who remember her. There's always a possibility that W4 will get multiplayer mode that was promised for Cyberpunk but never got delivered. If this happens, I don't expect all characters to be Ciri.

Pretty cool trailer but i thought , after witcher 3 downgrade and cyberpunk under delivery fiasco, especially they should know better not to mess with this ingame but prerendered BS. They will have to deal with tons of 8GB-12 gpus, we will see how those unique stones and fog beetween tiny flowers will stand. Hopefully it will not be business as usual " we dont say anything but Its not our fault its probably those consoles pss psst".

they are eastern developers, I highly doubt that.

Hope this game turns out to be great and fully opmitised. I don't mind if they revolutionise the series a bit, but I am going to miss Geralt and Yennefer and so on. Maybe there will be a part where you will be able to follow on their story.

Intrigued about the unannounced GPU. That being said, the trailer looked incredible even on a crappy projector like mine.

They were left in a good place at the end of blood and wine. Maybe Ciri could visit the vineyard but I would prefer their happy ending left alone if they don't have a major part in the story.
