The Order: 1886

In fact the order 1886 reminds me uncharted 1 which scored meta 88. The order 1886 has amazing technical achievement (even bigger than uncharted 1), single-player only (maybe 1hr shorter than Uncharted) and good game design (but still not perfect, just as the first title of uncharted).

IGN's podcast talked about the game length and defended it, So I expect the IGN review to be good depending on who writes the review.

One thing is for sure, if the game ends up being great I'm going to laugh my ass off.

Because I fear the worst. Fearing the best is a waste of time.

correction, wink-wink :p

Can you elaborate on this one?

It's just because in its time, UC1 introduced a LOT of completely new stuff, instead of basically implementing existing tech (though it is indeed very well done, especially in enabling the art to shine).

The only thing I haven't seen in other games is the lighting affecting the perpetually foggy locales (both indoors and outdoors).

The GDC archives are full of Uncharted technical presentations. Scroll down to GDC 2008 for the original Drake's Fortune.

That's what Laa-Yosh is saying - Uncharted did a lot new; The Order doesn't, only using existing tech to great effect and artistry.

Tomorrow 5AM PST, 2PM CET. KindaFunny will do 2-3hr livestream when NDA drops, with several standalone vidoes about impressions and review.

This is weird, I wonder why sixteen hours before the game is available? Previously sources, all different, were agreed on the 18th February, i.e. today, being the date when the embargo was lifted.

To be honest RAD did their fair share of development as well, like coming up with a solution for specular aliasing, or the fabric scanner device and workflow, or the texture/shader blending tools etc. It's not like you can just download the source code fur that stuff ;)

My thinking was more like, these things are sort of standard in AA game engines, whereas UC1-2 was somewhat ahead of the curve at the time.
