The Order: 1886

Okay, so it appears to be a platform exclusive third person game with a somewhat repetitive gameplay and sort of clichéd story and a relatively short campaign, and no multiplayer and low replayability, but very nice graphics and cinematic approach to gameplay and storytelling and all. It will obviously divide fans of both consoles, the question is just how objective everyone here is willing to be about it.

I'm talking about Ryse btw

yeah if you got disconnected while in rest mode, eventhough your modem automatically reconnect, PS4 will not auto download. But sony just released new FW update for stability. Maybe they fixed that

Ryse has a pretty decent multiplayer mode. I found arena fights to be quite exhilarating.

Ryse and The Order were never going to be judged the same way. We all know why.

Yeah. Why? Ryse got plenty of shit because it was a short and shallow engine showreel. Looks like The Order is getting the exact same treatment now. The PS4 hardware may have won the hearts and minds of the gaming public, but none of that mindset had any sort of beneficial impact on the perception of its underwhelming exclusives so far. I love my PS4, but save for the late blooming Driveclub, its exclusive games library is just utterly forgettable at this point.

From the impression I read the shooting gameplay is classical but pretty good for The Order.

After the game is a bit on the short side. The story is good but not TLOU level.

At best seen as a good game by gamer or for other average. I think metacritic will maybe be under 60 And at best 70.

And the game is seen like it is one if the worst game of all time if we listen internet.

Dunno I'm going to make a guess.
Maybe because ryse was the first so it was overlooked? The QTE could be bypassed by never bothering to execute. And it was a little different from QTE in that you controlled how you setup your executes and what type were all up to you?? Executions were very much important to the gameplay of ryse on harder difficulties you started to use them as breathers because you couldn't be attacked while executing.

Order seems like QTE is not part of the gameplay? So it's just a lot of button spamming for the sake of progressing the cinematic? Or did whoosh go over my head?

QTE in melee but on the playthrough QTE are 11 minutes and represent 3% of gameplay.

If it takes 10 hours to finish the game it is 1,8% of the game.

This is exciting! Something's happening! Have you seen all the vitriol all over the net? We should all expect by now this will probably end up being an average game, loved by some, hated by some, but...

If you liked Ryse you're just a lying xbox fanboy!
If you like 1886 you're just a lying sony fanboy!

They're not the same at all... yes they are.... nuh huh THEY'RE NOT... SHUT UP... NO YOU SHUT UP!!!!!!

Holy shit I need popcorn.

When are these reviews hitting?! I've been intermittently checking Eurogamer all day...
