The Order: 1886

So I carefully watched the footage a view times and wondered about the destruction of the environment.

I did spot some light destruction, (when he fired this rocket/bombs) but not fully fledged out as in BF Bad Company (since those games released, no other fps has reached this level imo).

I do wonder if destruction is going to be increased, I wonder if this is even possible in the short remaining time until release.

Just in case you missed it: Go check the newly anounced Rainbow Six Siege. Procedural destruction is a big focus.

Same here. Not exactly my type of game. I do like to play smart and strategise, but those go a bit to deep for me, but the emphasis on dynamic level got my purchase. I LOVE games that have higly interactive environments and where adapting to it is an important part of gameplay, I'm usually good at that hahah.

I think destruction is always a bit of a double edged sword. On one hand I really enjoy it when my actions have a strong effect on my surroundings. On the other hand this always makes the indestructible bits seem all the more jarring. "So long, you sweet, desolate apartment floor made of concrete, you!" is usually followed by "Geez, my enemy really does build the most formidable fences"

I do agree with this. It was the same feeling I had playing BF:BC, and its why I can't really ever rate thise games for their destruction as pre-baked destruction is just too easy to be pulled apart at the seams (and when it does happen it fundamentally cheapens the whole experience).

Red Faction Guerilla is still the king of destruction in AAA consoles games. That game was so darn fun and enjoyable to muck about in.

I'm hoping that alot of the destruction and soft body physics these devs have spoken about does actually make it into the final game.

When it comes to large sacale, and detailed destrucution, the designers and art directors should do as much hard work as the programmers. It's up to them to come up with a visual language that clearly diferentiate destructibles from non-destructibles that seems intuitive and plausible to the players, and have their levels be 100% consistent with it throughout the whole game. Not a easy job, but completely necessary to have destruction work in a game.

Check out the video at Gamersyde : Where has all the aliasing gone  ???? All that specular aliasing is completely gone in the new trailer: this is pristine CG-like graphics ! This is the shizzzzz !

lots of variety in environments, beauty and lotsa Uncharted Action ! Pre-order confirmed :yep2: !

This new trailer is epic. Watching HQ video from gs on 60" makes so high impression. Some moments are like a reality. The device he holds looks damn real. It's really cinematic, no doubt. Cathedral is amazing too. Waiting so much.

I still cant believe there is no coop campaign mode, how can you miss this in 2014 ? Especially when this is a story with foyr main characters.

Not only that, the framerate seems butter smooth now... no more stutter. But yes, the IQ and AA sampling outshines Infamous Second Son. Gorgeous game...

I've been doing my best to squash it. :p
