Well that just poured some ice cold water on everyone's big expectations...

This is learning from mistakes of not managing people's expectations. I would definitely have expected to see some PS5 news, indeed see mostly PS5 stuff so I would have been disappointed had I gone in cold.

This is stupid, if true. I assume the role is very minor and Square Enix repurposed Insomniac's models/art and were allowed to piggyback on Sony's PlayStation Spider-Man licence so not have to pay for the character.

Sorry I was being sarcastic, whenever sony clearly contradicts a rumor, it's like the rumor still wins.

The exclamation seems to be to emphasize to disregard the rumors. The actual text is very precise with what the State of Play will be about, so the tweet maybe looks a little strange in isolation with the exclamation.
