I will not call Samsung a "rival", when they work together since so many times.. ( HSA and on fabrication tech process ) . lol.

We don't have the ability to get into Goddard's head.
That being said, having that much experience would make him worth a fair amount of money, which Samsung has and AMD does not.

AMD has gone through some very severe stresses as of late, and anything from the corporate culture changing, personality clashes, or morale could play a role.

A lot of people with many years of experience in working with exciting new processors appear to be leaving, because companies with the cash to pay for that sort of talent are paying the cash AMD can't and/or the possibility that AMD isn't as exciting going forward. If the latter, hopefully that means Samsung will be doing something interesting.

All rumors indicate that morale isn't the best right now, to put it lightly. AMD's leaky nature as of late is also not a sign of loyalty or good sentiment.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has a new Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Devinder Kumar,

Talk about under staffing at amd the poor guy has to do 2 jobs....

Trinity is great. They need to start selling them so they can afford more tech dudes.

I don't really understand why Llano sold badly.

It's hard to define Llano as better or worse(Same with Trinity) in the laptop space. It's a trade off. You get lower CPU performance for higher GPU performance. In addition, didn't Llano have power consumption issues?

AMD CPUs end up mostly being used for the low quality notebooks. That doesn't help perception.

It wasn't very good under load, but had about the same power consumption as Sandy Bridge in idle.

well their ces conference brings about nothing. Everything is still in the future most likely nothing till june at the earliest and that's if time tables don't get pushed back even more. So they will be at least a half a year if not a full year behind windows 8's launch before they can bring out a compelling tablet processor.

Can you show me all these other "compelling tablet processors" that are available?
