Success of GTA:Vice City in Japan

Not seen anyone commenting on this, GTA Vice City has sold over 365,000 copies in Japan since launch back in May this year.

In the last chart posted at Magicbox it was No.11 June 21 - 27th it was still pulling in 10,000 sales a week.

This is not a success of the scale seen in the West, but pretty impressive sales performance for a Western developed game in Japan.

ND's Crash Bandicoot did well, 500.000+ ... donno if it was the most successful game though.

Which generation?

For PS1 era then it is Crash Bandicoot

For SNES era it would be Star Fox.

For PS2 era, I think GTA:Vice City would win the prize.

My benchmark is any Western developed title selling above 250k should be considered a success.
