Firingsquad picked up the press release on Yahoo Finance:
I'm wondering whether there was a quality issue here or if Blizzard simply felt they've missed the next-gen technology curve due to the game's shipping delays? The press release comes off slightly lacking IMO -- it's not as though the next-gen consoles have suddenly dropped out of the sky in the last six months -- gamers have been hearing the next-gen clarion call for nearly two years or more, while many devs have had development systems, of one kind or another, in-house for many months or longer and have likely been transitioning titles under development over to Xbox360/PS3/Revolution/etc for some time now.
I suppose with the runaway commercial success of WoW, Blizzard can afford to write-off five years of development time, but with so many of the original team (Blizzard) members having bolted from the stable in recent years, one has to wonder (remembering that WoW started life before the exodus) whether Blizzard will simply rely on derivative Warcraft/Diablo/Starcraft sequels/MMO's in future.
Cheers,

I haven't been following the game's development closely, but was initially interested before it became a console exclusive. Saying that, it feels as if this title has been in development for ages, even though it was only announced in September 2002 and now seems set to follow Warcraft: Lord of the Clans into still-born notoriety.Firingsquad Headline said:The troubled production of the sci-fi action game, Starcraft: Ghost, has apparently come to an end as developer/publisher Blizzard has announced that they have decided to "indefinitely postpone production" of the game. The press release hints that the decision to put the game on hold was because of the current console generation roots of Starcraft Ghost with Blizzard now wanting to "focus the company's console-development efforts on the next generation of console platforms".
