We've got to be there telling the story and showing those things which are more interesting," Ballmer said, "Whether it's a Spore or a Kameo, which is a different kind of game for the console world."

Would be kinda cool if it came out hopefully they are working on it coming.

Hmmm -- I guess I've been taking it for granted that it would automatically come out for consoles. I sure hope it does!

they are saying october for this right ?

IT looks like alot of fun (This and the movies ) so i might pick it up on this over the pc as my x360 will be brand spanking new and i'd want all the toys i could get for it haha

I'd hate to miss this game, but it's hard to convince myself to use my PC for other than music and code these days. Especially since the room doesn't have AC.

I'd beg for a full-featured console version!

I would definitely get this for 360 rather than PC, if they allow mouse control for this game. I'm not so sure about controlling this game with a control pad. I watched Will Wright's presentation from GDC and it looks like it could be pretty frustrating trying to operate the creature editor with a controller.

This game is on my Must Have at launch list since it was presented.
The concept is just incredible.

About the console port, and on topic, I think the KB/M combo is supported by the X360, so no problem about that (except if EA decide to rework the whole UI to be gamepad friendly and decide to not include KB/M support).

I agree this game is absolutely must have. I was floored by Will Wright's presentation. You have so much flexibility to design your creature however you want. Wright even showed an exact replica of a Care Bear, after which he went off on a tangent and spent a few minutes talking about the structure of the Care Bears universe.

Regarding keyboard/mouse support though, I thought MS said they'd allow a keyboard for text input and stuff like that, but not to be used as an actual game controller. I'm hoping that was mainly for FPS games, where a keyboard/mouse combo would give some online gamers a huge advantage.

This game is interesting, I think I'll be getting it for PC though instead of 360.

I heard there are alot of procedural content in Spore.

The concept sounds incredible, but the last game I remember with an incredible concept was Black and White, and that bored me when I finally got it. I want it to be brilliant, but i fear that like most games with grand ambition, like Revolution or BC, the reality of that amount of work and how to execute it on its given platform will kill it, or at least kill what would have made it great, and it then becomes another formulaic game of whatever genre it was going to revolutionise.

Think of every god game ever made and combine it with civ . That is a good idea of what it is

lol, I can only think of Black and White. And even then, I've never played it, but I have read about it. ;)

If that's what Spore is, I think I may be interested. :)

Wright seems to be better focused than Molyneux and usually delivers. His track record is definitely better.

Molyneux spends too much time pipe dreaming - too bad it's at the other end of a crack pipe.

Basicly you start off as a simple one cell creature and you evolve (you can control it ) and become a a space fairing race and you can go to other planets . So it really does sound like civ crossed with sim city + evo for the snes + sims + every other god game haha

*Bump*

Hopefully this hasn't been posted yet, and i havn't resurrected an old thread for nothing :)

But this is the first time i've actually seen the game in motion.

Here's Will Wrights session from GDC '05', where he talks about his game 'Spore' and shows alot from the game, this game looks and sounds damn fine, watch the whole thing, it gets more interesting as the session goes on.

There's a whole lot of videos from the other sessions also.
