I miss the days when you could name a GPU, like say... Xenos.
You can name a GPU but now that it's just part of the APU nobody has seemingly bothered. Sony refer to their whole APU as 'Liverpool' but if Microsoft named theirs I missed it.

Durango is what I thought it was.

So it would be dual GPU, exactly the same SoC, with each GPU featuring 32 MB of eSRAM.
You're better off with the monolithic design instead of forcing devs to deal with mGPU issues. If they really want to target brute force stereoscopic 3D, that should be up to them.

I thought Durango was the whole console (Orbis for PS4) but happy to be correceted.

Still.. they feel like prototypes, unlike RSX, Xenos. I don't take kindly the lack of names, just saying GPU is kinda mundane.

mGPU = MultiGPU, I suppose.

I am not excited about the design. Xbox One as a name is... meh. Talisman sounds a thousand times better in my ears.

Xbox One 3D though, could be appealing. One Durango GPU per eye, both with 32MB of eSRAM, exact same design.

No, "Xbox 3D" could be appealing. But they didn't call it the Xbox 3 or anything like that, so...

One Durango GPU per eye, both with 32MB of eSRAM, exact same design.
That makes some degree of sense for architectural ease ("same box but gets 3d for free"), but it would be terribly wasteful for a console.

'Liverpool' is the Sony SOC, and as an HSA component, talking about GPU and CPU is probably a little outdated (or AMD would like us to believe).

Talking about the name "Xbox One" itself... How are they gonna call XB1 successor?

Xbox One Two? XBox 360 2? or simply, at last, it's rightful name: Xbox 4?

In a different thread, I suggested that it will be tied to another Microsoft corporate initiative.
Since this one is linked to the One Microsoft and the next time should be one higher, Microsoft's typical level of awareness of the internet's mentality provides an obvious choice.

Xbox Number Two

That thread was deleted.

I'm a hopeless romantic on wanting to see a true successor to the Emotion Engine or Cell. Of course, without the headaches of yesterday. I can dream though...

Anyhow, I hope PS5/XB2 architectures (DNA) isn't of the same family ...hell, not the same chipmaker for that fact. In away, that stops me from buying the XB1 now, is because the architectures are to similar to each other.

In a dark laboratory some time in the future:

XB...: Who are you?
Old-Console: I am the new number 2.
XB...: Who is number 1?
Old-Console: You are number 2.
XB2: I am not a number. I am open source console.

 Since you are a romantic....

Next PS5 GPU could be named Crazy in Love.... or.... Love Sick.

Xbox One 2 GPU could be called Follies of Love.

Does that make sense for you?
