Speaker repair

I was wondering if someone could point me to a forum that may be able to help me with my problem.

I have a set of computer speakers that I love and don't have the money to replace them with something I'd be happy with. The problem is the headphone jack on it is messed up, it thinks headphones are plugged in even if they aren't. I was able to bend the contacts inside the jack so I can at least use the speakers but after I use the headphone jack, it still thinks headphones are still plugged in.

The warranty has expired and the manufacturer doesn't have replacement speakers or even parts. So, I'm gonna look into trying to fix it myself, but I don't really know what part I need.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, heh.

Open it up , take out the micro phone jack, go to radio shack get a new one . Shouldn't take long and should work fine

Thanks for your help

I opened it up and I'm still a little confused. There's 4 wires connected to the jack. I looked at radioshack's website and found a pdf that helped some.

Accept phone plugs. Three-conductor types are for stereo use. Closed-circuit types are often used as headphone jacks on equipment that has built-in speakers. Can be wired so that inserting a headphone plug turns off the speakers.

So, looks like I need a 3 conductor, closed circuit jack. Any ideas how to wire it so it'll turn off the speakers (the current connections are just labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4)? heh, probably not, but thanks for the help.
