Sony running out of PS3 dev kits

I can see SE's online games go Xbox exclusive and FF:CC franchise go Nintendo exclusive and FF and DQ going PS3 exclusive. I really don't know why but SE never had same game go multiplatform(even porting) and I don't think that trend will end.(with FFXI being MMORPG, it is special exception) I will say again, unless X360 sells well in Japan, it won't get either FF or DQ.

SE's online strategy seems to hinge on accessing their games through multiple platforms. Their online games will not be exclusive to least of all X360 (unless there's a large turnaround in Japanese performance, that's just not feasible anyway).

You gotta be crazy to think an HDD will change the status quo with SE. X360 and Rev will get SE games. But it's a drop in the ocean compared to what the PS3 will get. The PS3 will get all those mmorpg's the 360 gets, and it'll also get the REAL FF games, like 13 & 14, and it will get all their new IPs as well. MS did best in the US, but they still got clobbered by Sony. I think in the fervor to cheer for one side, perspective is lost. When you put it in perspective, as "good" as MS and Nintendo did, Sony completely housed them. It's embarassing the margin by which they have/will be beaten. As a result, none of the major devs are gonna take a chance and start reordering priorities unless the 360 and Rev can prove from *early* that they are competitive. AFAIK, this is just DC redux. A lot of wishful thinking, but these hopes will be dashed the moment the next FF/DQ is officially announced for the PS3. PEACE.

Hasn't the next FF already been announced for the PS3. All you seem to be doing is trying to be a doombringer to everybody else while saying the PS3 has already won. NOTHING is stopping SE from putting out their FF franchise (including "real" games) out on other platforms as well. They might have always been one console exclusive but they used to be always on Nintendo, but things change.

You mind if i go around comparing the ps3 to the n64 because there are similaritys

Go right ahead, I don't mind.

Here, I'll start for you: If Sony doesn't put a hard drive in PS3 and it results in big devs like Square or Rockstar moving their games to Xbox 360, it will be like Nintendo's cartridge decision pushing devs away from N64 and toward PlayStation.

We'll just have to see.

By the way, to those stating that the 360 will get an upgraded graphics engine for FFXI, it was stated by Square that the graphics will be comparable to the PC version, so not really upgraded. Also, people who would spend $500 to buy a new graphics card for their favorite MMO wouldn't buy a MMO on a console if it was also available for the PC anyway. Combine that with the fact that PC's have a larger MMO selection and a better control scheme for those kinds of games, I really don't see console MMORPG's becoming that popular unless they support keyboard/mouse or have a case like FFXI where the game sold well because it was named Final Fantasy and tons of foreign people bought and played it (Korea and other Asian countries are the largest MMO market in the world. Don't believe me, just look at the install base for Lineage and Lineage 2, both Korean MMO's and both have most of their subscribers in Korea. Even WoW doesn't come close to matching the install base of either of those games.)

We are talking about the console installed base. ps2 version to pc version is insane , pc graphics with larger draw distance as they said is just icing on the cake .

Well pcs currently have a larger selection of mmos we don't know what it will be like this gen. THat is like saying why would someone buy a console for fps's .

As for the mouse and keyboard i disagree . The controller is fine and voice chat should help things with the newergames .
