Can anyone remember the name of a book for me? The story goes along the lines of a young girl who receives letters from a unknown man; the letters basically discuss the history and ideas of philosophy. The book when it becomes apparent to the girl and the man that are simply characters in a book...or something like that. Any ideas?

I remembered this because of the extremely cliche choice of the name of the girl. Though I cant say I have ever read it ... or ever will, all that mental wankery ... bleh, Ill stick to the physical kind.

I think that would be "Sofies verden" by Jostein Gaarder (A norwegian author )

I think the English title is "Sophie's World"...
