oblivon is a console game , being co developed at the same time acording to game informer .
1. It's a multiplatform game, not console game. Max Payne 2 was a great example of multiplatform game.
2. It's developing for next generation of consoles (Xenon being the most possible development target).

Yes and its still a console game and it will look better on a xenon than on a pc of the time .

Look at when the dreamcast came out in 1998 and find me a game that looks as good as sonic adventure or soul caliber for the pc in 1998 .

It simply wont be done . the same will be said for next gen systems

Don't you mean it will run faster on Xenon? I doubt they will use different art for the console version or disable some special effects for the PC.

I agree

.. However, Ragemare does have a point... since Oblivion is a multiplatform game.. Bethesda may not really make full use of the console's capabilities, perhaps in order to meet some time constraints to make Oblivion a launch title .. even a huge development power house like EA said (in this article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4201391.stm ),
It's a horrendous effort in the first year
... they have to get games ready for launch , when they are basically learning about the machines for the first time

(I first found out about that article from this post: http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19962 )

I would be really, really surprised if Bethesda had Oblivion ready for the X2's launch. That game has at least one delay in it. Early 2006 is a more likely launch window for Oblivion than late 2005. But hey, weirder things have happened.
