Java very often doesn't work properly for me.
Here is an example of errors from on a few minutes browsing:- http://freespace.virgin.net/gs.ashby/javaErrors.PNG
My parents asked me to look up something on http://www.portland-holidays.co.uk/ and I got nothing, as you can see from the pic above, IE did the same using the same version of JRE as FF uses.
So many websites bugger up my browser, and some Java processes remain in memory so that associated files cannot be deleted after I have finished with them.
I have the latest version of JRE.
Is it just me???
