So John Carmack hasn't commented on CELL?

I was looking forward to reading what John Carmack thought of the new CPU architechture and I haven't seen anything yet.

Also I haven't read any comments by Linus Torvaldus.

I'm not sure he will really have much to say. He may like to get his hands on a sample but his thoguhts will most likely end up the same as others' until he gets hands-on experience with CELL.

Yeah well, Carmack doesn't have an option. None of us do. If you want more CPU power, you have to incorporate more processors than 1. Anyone in favor of remaining single core is in favor of the stagnation PC CPUs have been in for some time.
