The game is one of those rarities that really prefers AMD hardware. Interesting.

SS HD: The First Encounter ran much better on my 550 Ti than it did on my HD 5770, so it's interesting that BFE favours AMD cards.

After dorking around trying to figure out where it's putting F11 screens, I give up. Time for breakfast.

That's 2x6970 in CFX. Incidentally, SS3:BFE does not enable SGSSAA by default in Ultra. I can tween the settings higher still if you want but I figured a standard mode would be more representative.

Also, the split is coop or vs. and has 3 or 4 modes. Had to get my 360 controller hooked up to take the shots. Up to 4 players.

Well, I'm sure I won't be getting that sort of AA at playable frames with my single 470! Glad it scales though as we'll probably still be playing in a year or two from time to time. Should be grabbing a top-end 6 series whenever they decide to arrive.

Please do post some pics of ultra high goodness. I want to see what I'm looking forward to, and I'm sure I'm not alone in liking eye-candy round here.

It's Parallax mapping on "nice"
parallaxing quality on high
MSAA on 8x
SSAA on 4x
FXAA on ultra
AO on with Full precision and high quality
Shadow AA on high (4x)

It's actually playable on those settings...a bit choppy at times, but playable.
I need to get more time to play, but the intermittent flashing is pretty ugly when it happens. Not flashing textures, juts like CFX is dorked like when Crysis 2 first came out.

Oh and tessellation is enabled.

I'd drop all AA settings except 4X SSAA. FXAA on top of that will just mess up texture details.

Adding MSAA might clean up edges slightly more but that 4X SSAA is already a huge performance hit. Maybe experiment with 2X MSAA + 4X SSAA.
