Seiken Densetsu 4 to use Havok physics

Seiken Densetsu 4 (the next in Square Enix's Mana series) to use Havok physics

This sounds really interesting. I can't imagine a Mana game using realistic physics. I am a lot more excited now. I would just love to send a rag doll rabite flying across a field with my hammer and see it slam into a tree. muahahaha

Maybe Im being a little nitpicky here but...whats with using the Japanese pronunciation of games that are localized in English? Most people will have no clue what game you're talking about otherwise.

Maybe he owns the Japanese version? Or maybe he just like refering to games by their original title? Expand your horizons a little. Just because it's available in English doesn't the English title becomes Default. Mah, now I'm being nitpicky. ;P

Anyway, have they finally announced which console it's going to be on? It looks really good if it's a PS2 game... I keep thinking it's gonna be a GC title though.

Erm, it does not have an english name yet?
In fact, the whole Seiken Densetsu series is pretty f****d when it comes to english names anyway, with SD1 = Final Fantasy Adventure in the US, Mystic Quest in EU (wtf?), SD2 = Secrect of Mana, SD3 = unreleased (wtf? - get the patch), and then there are spinoffs like Legend of Mana and the soon-to-be-released DS game.

Anyway, I agree that it is hard to imagine a Seiken game with a physics engine. I wonder if it will really affect gameplay...

Even though its doesn't have a home yet (Console) I believe that a next gen console should be sporting this game. Either PS3 or Revolution. Also, and JRPG sporting an advanced physics engine? Craziness!! I can't wait for this game.

I agree Blue, call me crazy, but I have a funny feeling this will be a killer app. for Revolution, don't ask why I just get that buzz for some reason. Cant wait for this, I loved Secret of Mana back on SNES, however Legend of Mana on PS1 was pretty disappointing. (same series or not?)

Mana timeline:

SD1 = Final Fantasy Adventure-GB, Sword of Mana-GBA..
SD2 = Secret of Mana
SD3 = Japan only, SNES sequel to SD2. Why it wasn't translated and released along with SMRPG.. I'll never understand. I'd also like to know why SD2/SD3 (and SMRPG for that matter) have yet to appear on the handhelds. Especially considering the release of the SD1 remake, Sword of Mana. Maybe it didn't sell well enough?
SD4 = Legend of Mana-PS1.

Supposedly we got Secret of Evermore instead of SD3 because Square thought that was a more western-friendly game.

That's sad because SD3 was a pretty slick game. The coolest part was that you got to pick 3 characters out of 6 for your party, and each could change classes twice. Each class change had 2 possibilities, so every character had 2 intermediate classes and 4 possible final classes. There are 3 different end bosses depending on who your main character was. SD3 also had some of the best graphics on the SNES. Hopefully it will get the GBA/DS treatment like so many other classic SNES games.
