Sega onboard Nintendo DS and Sony PSP

The one interesting thing I've found in a Sega interview regarding the PSP, is that they've said they won't only be making games for it, but other kinds of entertainment products. What that might be? Are they going to make movies for it? If so, what kind of movies? Maybe they are talking about some kind of online enabled entertainment software that would make sense to be portable?

I'm just a tad bit skeptical of SEGA developing Astro Boy for the PSP. I know Sonic Team is developing the PS2 game but why have some sort of secrecy for developing a PSP version?
Because there hasn't been a single PSP game announced, although we know for a fact many are in development? Sony is clearly guarding that info so that they can blow it off at E3 with as big number of titles as they can get. Astroboy would certainly make perfect sense, as the PS2 version is some kind of collaboration between Sega and Sony. I'm personally hoping for Space Channel 5 1&2 and Super Monkey Ball as well. I think those two games would work perfectly on a such a handheld, and SMB is almost a given as they've made it even for nGage.

Playing SMB without an analog control really makes no sense to me... -_- I've seen the cell phone and N-Gage versions thus far, and they make my soul weep.

BTW: Do you have a link to said interview, marc? (Or was it in print somewhere?)

Good thing PSP will have analog pad/stick then :))

Sorry, no idea where I've read it, but trust me, they've said it.

Hrm... Both weird and interesting. I was just hoping to get the exact quote, as wording can certainly make a difference between interpretations.

Gotta love Google. ^_^

From an article on Gamespot:

Looking to take advantage of the PSP's multimedia capabilities, Sega appears to be planning more than just game development for the handheld machine. "If it's an entertainment machine that can run games, we won't dwell on just making games for it--we will also provide digital entertainment contents. We hope that we can make some announcements on this at the [Tokyo] Game Show in the fall," said Sega consumer sector chief Hideki Okamura.

I remember reading the article now, just not that particular part.
