Screensaver disappearing act

I noticed the other day when I awoke, that my screensaver wasn't open. This is an oddity because its set to run after the computer is idle for a minute. Now, a few days later, it hasn't enabled at all. I've set it time and time again, yet no avail. The strangest part is nothing about my system/video drivers changed that would adversely effect my screensaver. It just decided to stop working. Whats really aggrivating is how much I realized I rely on my screensaver. My mobo still has a faulty POST, some of you may remember my old POST thread, and typically starts beeping like theres an issue, yet will stop abruptly after three or four restarts, thus you can see why my computer is hardly ever off. Any ideas as to why it decided to stop working?

Thanks-

Maybe you have a HIPS cappable protection program that has blocked certain files needed for loading the screensaver?

How could I find this out? It's still occuring and frankly, at this point, it's completely obnoxious.

could you have a faulty mouse thats transmting small unoticable movements to the pc

This post led to my epiphany. It was my "Guitar Hero" remote which was plugged into my USB.

Once again the mighty davros proves his superioty in all things pc :D
i came up with that answer because I left my mouse on the very edge of my mouse mat and noticed the pointer was very slowly tracking across the screen
