Rules concerning posting images and movies

First of all, read the following - http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22121

Note that it makes it clear that the maximum image size is 800 x 600; anything larger must be inserted as an ordinary hyperlink to the image. Also note that it is poor manners to post material without acknowledging the source; for websites, this is particularly important as traffic to the correct pages helps to generate income to keep the sites online - simply posting the image or movie file just drains the bandwidth for no reward.

Please do not abuse the various system by virtue of being either obtuse ("I view the Internet at 1600 x 1200, it's not a problem for me...") or pig-headed ("It's my thread, so I'll post how I damn well please..."); nobody is too lazy to not click on a link to view an image.

This is not recommended. If Beyond3D were a print magazine and some of our exclusive content were scanned and provided as images on the Internet, we'd be pissed too.

This applies to providing URLs of magazine/publication scans instead of actually posting scanned images; the same condition applies to wholesale copying of articles.

Beyond3D reserves the right to either edit posts or delete entire threads, with no explanation provided, that provide scanned images from magazines/publications or provide URL(s) to scanned images from magazines/publications.
