Sammy Becomes SEGA's Largest Shareholder

Most arcades I know usually stick to older games, they're generally bigger profit makers than new games, and cheaper.

BTW, I thought many of sega's dev teams were seperate companies from sega since the saturn/dreamcast days. I remember in the official dreamcast magazine in an interview with sonic team, they said they could bring games to PS2(specifically Phantasy Star Online) if they wanted to, but had no desire to do so.

Well, you could just spend all day long playing Pachinko in Shenmue, would be cheaper that's for sure...

Well, unless Sega cash-in the winning, what's the point of that :D

I can't believe any one can stand that long in front of a damn boring metal balls falling machine (the same issue to me like the boring slot machines). But there are really that many Japanese doing it all day long.

Hey, its quite fun, besides its easier to make money on those than slot machine.

Pachinko centers are making a mass amount of money in Japan, that is a cultural thing that others won't understand.

As opposed to watching fake cards spin 'round on wheels? Surely no one in their right mind would want to do that... :)

There's a funny thing about Japanese pachinko parlors. Since gambling for cash is repressed over there (like here  ) there's little booths called "resale shops" that buy your prizes for cash outside the parlors. (and only buy pachinko prizes)
