regarding rules and etiquitte lately I've noticed alot of threads being sidetracked into outright flamefests, (with some threads going on way after all points on interest have beeen exhausted) and wondering do we need a cleary set of rules and regulations outline on the forum.

thoughts, suggestions or am I just being an ass raining on everyones parade :) ?

with my back the way it is i'm having alot of trouble modding and well its hard to judge cause sometimes flames come in and there is still valid things being said by others in the thread.

well I wasn't suggesting the mods cover the board full-time or anything like that. just clearer guidelines on what constitutes a legit/informative/etc.. post. ie I'm hoping for some self Moderation on posters (myself included), and am wondering if anyone has any ideas.

basicly don't curse and try not to respond to someone that u know is flaming . Thats the major problem. It takes two to make a flame .

pretty much agree, for example if you look at the 3D tech & hardware forums lately therre are some loooong ass threads which although contain little flames (I think) are full of long diversions into the merits/evils of ATI/nvida/futuremark.

nobodies being rude or some such but the noise level generated is pretty high.

note: I apologise in advance for my poor grammer btw

Edit: can 'this' thread be considered flamebait?

Haven't been around much? Believe me, they've had their fair share of flame fests...

It's all action and reaction. Yes it takes two to flame, but one person to start it .... usually it's always the same people, who start to de-rail threads.
