IMO, it does not look that much better than TR:DE. Obviously some effects are boosted because this is now a nextgen-only project, but overall, nothing shown so far has made me go wow.

It's not next newgen-only. The game is coming out for the X360.
Crystal Dynamics swears the X360 version isn't holding back the XBone version, but in the end they do need to make the same game...

Nixxes are doing the X360 port, they have already done Tomb Raider (PS3) and Tomb Raider definitive edition (PS4), both outstanding ports, first party level quality really and I own both games.

The X360 game is only a port but as Nixxes guys are really competent I think they can totally port a fully next gen release.

Can't wait to play their undoubtedly excellent PS4 port of this game!
 
Nixxes did not work on PS3 version of last TR. Crystal Dynamics itself created core PS3/X360 versions, while Nixxes worked on great PC port and superior PS4 version of TRDE.

Nixxes is great.

I think you're both right there. While the game doesn't look hugely better than the last one (although still better), the last one was good enough for that to not matter. This will still be a great looking next gen title, although dare I say it, possibly not as good as it's direct competitor.
 
Also, I think TR:Def was a kinda-almost-60fps game? If they're running this new one at 30, there's a whole lot of room to push the eye candy.

It was for PS4, but they frame-limited the XO version to 30 (with 900p cut-scenes at times).
 
I highly doubt it would be discounted $20 and thus see little reason to believe this rumor. My guess would still be April for the PS4 at the same price.
 
My (joke) prediction that Sony will just pay CD off and release this game very late for free on PS+ is coming closer to the truth.

It makes so much and so little sense at the same time, you have to agree it's genius.

And I'm not drunk!
 
AM I the only one not impressed by the extended gameplay demo? It was okay , that was about it, for me. I want to see large open areas if I am to be shown survival by collecting branches , not a cramped section with gimmicky crafting.
OTOH< TR: DE was very good in its open world-ish stuff so I am guessing this would be good too. But then FC4 never really felt as good as FC3 to me, after all no one wants the same thing again. Every title needs to be feel fresh for a player to invest his time !
 
wait... this comes to X360???????????? OMG

now i need to make sure my x360 did not became roach nest and full of cat furs (i placed it on floor, right in front of rattan sofa. the round corner really comfortable for my feet)

What they showed seems pretty much like the 2013 TR but more of it. I don't have a problem since i liked the 2013 TR, i was a fan of the series since the first game but i understand why it needed to change a bit, making it more like Uncharted was the right choice imo. The only thing i need changed in the new reboot TR games is to make lara a bit more carefree and less whiny, i don't play Tomb Raider to hear grunts and "I can do this" every 3 meters. I want to shoot dinosaurs with dual berretas while i do a backflip off a waterfall :D
 
Yeah, I like TR so much that I am happy it follows the same formula! Better than changing things so much that a different game comes out (e.g. KZ2 to KZ3)
