For my part, I'd mention that this particular file is actually down. ;)

LOL - thanks Vysez. I guess that's what I get for trusting in members 'favored' download services and linking to them. ;)

Anyway I put it on savefile and re-linked it. Soooo.... well I definitely recommend that comparison one!

I didn't see anything relating to LAIR. I did see Heavenly Sword demo.
I'm not sure if its the same video as the old GDC videos, but at around 2:20 they move the camera around two different dragons frozen in place while the lightning/rain effects are going off in the background. If its old, i guess I didnt catch that part of the movie before.

I'd say all the videos look damn impressive. I would like to see more of Resistance/I-8 to get a better judgement and some ingame of motorstorm + heavenly sword as it was just tech being displayed. The Warhawk PS1 vs PS3 comparison going around is amazing. Rachet&Clank = top notch stuff.

and oh ya, the higher quality GOW2 vid is simply amazing for current gen.

What is the R&C gameplay like? Will you be able to fly around in that city and going into all these buildings, or are they mostly for show?...

R&C has some light exploration elements in the big city levels where you can fly around in your jet/heli pack to discover some secrets in the various architecture, but for the most part its linear shooting/puzzle solving, albiet very fun. Still I imagine they might open things up with the next gen installment. I think failing to incorporate a fully interactive taxi cab chase in a futuristic city that detailed and lively would be a crime. ;)

I see what you did there. ;)
5th element car chase ftw.

Yep, it seems too much work just so you can have a nice view from some bridge or something, on the other hand making all those suroundings "interactive" is no small task either...

I-8: Looked ok, might be fun, need to see more.

Warhawk: Looks pretty nice, not sure about the gameplay yet, looks a bit clunky and some of the enemy planes seem to be flying predetermined routes, atleast it looks that way to me, still might be a nice game.

R&C: the best looking game out of the four contender, previous games have been great, no reason to expect that this would be different, looks pretty much on par what I would expect from PS3 R&C no less no more.

Motorstorm: it's too early to tell whether this will be a good game, but the graphics/animations are downgraded from last year's E3 so much that it's not even funny, still looks ok.

Out of the videos on this thread I must say that God of War 2 is the one I can't wait to get my hands on R&C being the second game I absolutely want to play, the other three are pretty much unknowns at the moment.

Gee, could that be because you are watching a sandbox level that has all of the playfield elements stripped out to demonstrate the realtime terrain deformation/mud effects to developers at developer conference?

No, it is apparent that even those things that demo was supposed to demonstrate were clearly downgraded from the E3 movie, still looks pretty nice though.

I'm really lovin warhawk, looks great, ratchet & clank of course, looks like a CG movie it's so good, kudos to the team.

Motorstorm looks like absolute rubbish compared to the E3 trailer though, not even CLOSE. The E3 had amazing mud splatter, spraying all over the camera with realistic physics, the mud now looks like gobs of shit flying in the air. I have a feelin sony's gonna get hammered on this by the press, the side by side comparisons won't be pretty.

Yet again  Phil Harrison stated it was the mud technology that was on show at GDC not the game
And what exactly did you think I was talking about? The mud physics looks terrible compared to the CG we saw last year, how you can not immediately see that is beyond me...

Becasue there is more factor's than that, people forget the fact that

1. It was'nt on final hardware

2. it was an old build of the game

Honestly people need to be a little less judgemental :(

It still looks terrible and I doubt it will improve much. Sony put the expectations high with CGi and now it's coming back to bite them in the @rse.

The physics look fine, it's the particle rendering/material/texture that's off. More particularly so in the buggy part. I'm pretty sure they can do better than that, and I hope they will.

Well it depends on how you look at it; by far the prevailing sense I get from those who have viewed the videos is one of excitement, so overall I don't think they're being 'bitten.' Those that tend to view these videos as proof of false expectations also tend to have been critical of Sony's promises from the start. So you can tack it up to people 'voting' across along party lines if you like, but whether you felt they looked 'terrible' or not, I think you will have to acknowledge that a lot of Sony fans are in fact pleased.

How do you download from Megaupload????

Edit: Nevermind I figured it out.

Seriously it couldn't be easier, they've all been put in one place and on Savefile rather than MegaUpload - hedges out the waiting countdown and the ads in the way.
