Ratchet and Clank [PS4]

Hm...honestly, I am a bit underwhelmed by the graphics. Looks good, but nothing breathtaking?!?

I hoped for more on PS4!
You think? Admittedly, I've only seen the videos on my iPhone so maybe when I watch them again on a big screen later I'll feel differently.

Wasn't the PS2 game at 60fps?

What does that have to do with a new engine? Especially an engine that's pushing far more geometry, supporting a longer draw distance, handling better lighting/shadowing techniques and sporting an insane IQ (clarity / HQ AA) that matches, if not surpasses, Infamous Second Son.

I'm pretty sure if you ask Sony and Insomniac nicely, they might provide you those retro 60fps R&C games in Remastered style. Let me know how that goes...

The lighting/shadowing and the ungodly amount of tessellations (nurbs?) within the faces and certain objects like the laundry basket, are still ways off from being used in real-time (playable) with this current generation of consoles.

You know saying things like that will draw VFX_Veteran :yep2:
Ok so I'll rephrase it. In my eyes, if we exclude the obvious ungodly geometry on offline renders, Toy story 1 has long been surpassed. In my opinion. And yes I don't need to hear about how realtime graphics need to 'fake' some things and offline have an infinite amount of computational power to render even one frame at super ultra mega high resolution with alien antialiasing (AAA) YAWN!

I was thinking, if we continue discussing the difference between Real Time and CGI, it will pass the time until E3.

Let's stay in this thread too, it will give Ratchet more exposure than other games, so it's a big win!

Fuck the police!!!
