I don't know where you got that information from, because it is completely false. First, the radeon 8500 64MB lets you use 2x at 16x12 in perf. mode, and 12x10 in quality mode. Second, I don't see how R300 will have less than 128 MB either. I'm sure multisampling will be supported as well, and done properly unlike GF3/4. The performance hit is way too high on GF3/4 - almost as much as supersampling, yet doing so much less work.
