Maybe I'm way off base, but I'll guess early 20's. Why is that age range is the most weirded out by such things? Is it because many of them aren't getting any, or much, and thus aren't secure/happy in that area of their life?

most likely because in your early 20s you don't have much real world experiance and not alot of gay men in your life ?
