"PSX" market failure causes analysts to reconsider

I realize that the PSX currently has some bugs but so do many cheap DVD players. The cheapest players usually lack the ability to record in stereo as well. Once you start comparing the PSX with properly specced DVD recorders from quality brands the price isn't too bad.
 
Well $350 is pretty cheap for a standalone DVD recorder from major brands like Pioneer and Toshiba which can record in Dolby Digital 2.0. Add a HDD and you're still only looking at $500 from the same brands while offering more than the HDD-based PSX less the built-in PS2.
 
don't you always burn at 1speed when recording from live TV?
or is that burning the edited video material from harddisk to dvdr
