PSP - is it worth it?

the original openMG jukebox cannot see the PSP as a target device, you need the sonic stage bloatware if you are to do any atrac3 transfers to the psp.

Well technically Sonic Stage *is* OpenMG Jukebox, just a newer version (still uses the same omgjbox process id) :p

the special thing here is that it is possible to use the oringinal openMG jukebox to put atrac3s on the psp w/o any sonicstage nuisance after all. it takes an old clie and a duo adapter, though : )

Well they still use EMD transfer... I'd imagine the reason you did it via the CLIE and Duo adapor is because pre-omgjbox 3.0 doesn't have PSP device support. And even 3.0 has a bug that prevents it from doing EMD transfer to Duo Pro cards... (which is ironic since EMD to Memory Stick requires Magic Gate and Magic Gate is part of the Pro spec, and optional on Duo) :p

yes, i was aware of their lineage relation. the reason for the differentiation i use, though, is that the pre-sonicstage openMG is ~10MB worth, whereas sonicstage is 30+MB offering essentially the same functionality as its predecessor. that puts sonicstage in a certain category of software that will not find place on my drive.

yes. speaking of irony, though, even if omg 2.2 was capable of writing to mg pro the old clie i use couldn't handle them anyway (due to that pro-non-pro misunderstanding sony presented their customers with : )
