I don't know if I like the backside, but the front is really good looking IMHO. Almost borders on sexy.

Hey, and it's not the monstrosity that many here claimed it would be; not that I would know any people who were saying it wouldn't be.... ;)

It's just a concept model, things could and most likely will change. The back looks kinda dumb, I mean cmon.. a circle?

It will change a bit.

But this could verywell be the basic "gist" of PSP.

Page 13 from Kutaragi PDF

Multi Cell(Home Server) : 1 GFLOPS
Blade(Authoring Tool) : 32 GFLOPS
Rack(Graphics Workstation) : 2 TFLOPS
Cabinet(Super Computer) : 16 TFLOPS
Server Room(AI) : 1 Petaflop

Gee, it takes a rack of blades to reach 2 TFLOPS? A big blow to Panajev and Co.

Very nice picture.

A little too smooth for where the buttons are. Also folks with big thumbs might have problems.

Nice look though.

I thought it was to be a folding design?

Sweet though. I just don't see how they can cram much battery into that thing...

OMG! Is this it? I'm sold, I'm sold, I'm sold!

*runs around dancing away in joy... :D

...

I am simply pointing out what Kutaragi Ken actually presented. Kutaragi doesn't claim(Never claimed) that each CELL chip does 1 TFLOPS; he claims it will require a rack of many many CELL blades to reach 2 TFLOPS, which is entirely logical compared to this "1 TFLOP chip" non-sense.

Hey Sonic, can we purge this thread of any Cell/PS3 talk (including my post and Paul's responce) as it is a PSP thread. Thanks.

Quite interesting, offhand, but those buttons and the D-pad are giving me a headache trying to contemplate. Hopefully they will get the time and attention to make sure they work well and comfortably over long play sessions, and not get skimped on in an effort to stick to low-profile, modern-art concept looks. Also wouldn't mind some hand curvature to the case. Interesting first look, tho. ^_^

BTW: Hasn't that slide been tossed about time and time again for any number of months?

I have a better idea, we'll delete our own replies. This means you too Deadmeat, make a new topic if you must.

But to get on-topic now, could it be imposible that Sony put this out today to gather ideas of what people like and dislike about it?

As far as the acutal buttons, they are flat against the unit. However I think it would be good to have the circle, box, triangle all raised VERY slightly so flat buttons wouldn't be a problem.

As for the look of the unit? Dead sexy, especially the front. The back I think needs a little bit of work.

And a keychain? I didn't even think of one, but now that I think about it; I would rather it not have the keychain or the hole.

Looks pretty good. As some other people have mentioned, the buttons could be raised a bit. I think I'd probably have the biggest problem with the d-pad, though, because it curves a little bit in a manner that doesn't look to comfortable.

As far as the keychain idea goes, I kinda like it. Although maybe it could be attached to a protective case or faceplate that the PSP would slip into.

They'd better place that keychain somewhere more central (not on one side, but in middle of two sides.)

But then it would form an inverted "T" shape... that's not cool. Don't you want it to be linear and flow downwards? Just seems more comfortable.

I happen to like the keychain idea myself. Pretty neat, it also give it a sence of scale in the picture.

I like the keychain to. It not like a cellphone you can drop a thousand times, and still expect it to work, there is relatively delicate drive mechanism inside. Besides i wouldn’t want to drop such en (probably) expensive piece of equipment at all and get it all scratched up.

They could put it in the upper left hand corner, (unless there's shoulder buttons), and then it wouldn't be jutting out into the palm of your hand.

Those buttons really look a lot like the new IPOD buttons. I certainly hope they aren't as touch sensitive.
