PSP and RSS feeds?

I never really got into RSS feeds, infact I'm still out of it with the details and everything. But with school starting up, I was hoping I could easily catch some updated news stories (gaming specifically) while at college, maybe while in class (campus hotspot ftw!). When I first started school RSS wasnt available on 1.5 firmware, after the devhook I can have that feature.

Anyways I was wondering, how does the RSS work on the psp? Does it grab the updates automatically when the wifi switch is turned on? Or do you have to keep checking manually for updates.

And my second question is, do you guys recommend any specific website RSS's, specifically gaming related?

Actually, Firmware 1.5 is the best for regular type RSS feeds - I haven't found any support for this on the PSP in 2.8 in fact! Maybe I don't understand something, but it seems so far that the native RSS support 'only' supports audio and video RSS feeds (i.e. podcasts and vodcasts, the latter only non-streaming at the moment).

I can't, however, get it to do RSS text feeds with anything else than Webnab, the homebrew RSS reader by Danzel (which is fine by the way).

I'm just now wondering though if it wouldn't be possible to write a Flash application that does it. Maybe I should ask Danzel sometime.

I still don't understand why there's no text RSS support on the PSP natively though - it seems such a simple feature to add, especially with the browser already in there.

So only audio and video RSS feeds?
podcasts for audio im guessing?
but how does video work? does it have to be formatted for the psp, or is it streamed in somehow?
