PSN weekly updates

I think th eonly Year end purchase I will make now is rebuying BF3 for the PC. Can't resist that at all !

Oh, don't worry, my "I am not buying games" resolutions are extremely weak ;) ! BTW, patsu, if u haven't got it already, go get the Humble Bundle 4 ! Its the best thing since forever and now has 12 games for pay what you want! Complete with soundrtacks. Cave Story+,SHank, SUper MEat Boy, JamesTown, etc, etc, etc. ITs the best in gaming ever. Gaming heaven. Cave Story + alone is worth more than what you will pay there. They have made around 1.7 Million by now.

great, so Ico & SotC are added to PSN - I'd love to d/l them but I don't really want to have to start my games again...does anyone know if the game saves will work?

You mean from your PS2 saves? My guess is you can't import PS2 saves as these are PS3 games.

Was tempted by SOTC, but Dungeon Defenders is up as a trial and unlock. I'll take a look at that, and then there'll be other games in my possession in a few days, so no game time left to warrant spending the money. ;)

They should be compatible. No reason not to be. I can't believe they created a whole new save system for the download version. Should just be a case of a folder structure and/or filename, which shouldn't change between versions.

That's not actually a definitive answer for you, though, so not really very helpful. ;)

It's worth noting that the price is very reasonable IMO. £20 for the double pack, £13 for SOTC on its own.

If you send me a save game, I can try and load it for you? I have not booted either game since I downloaded them from PSN yesterday.

Unfortunately it's luck of the draw, apparently InF2 is fine but InF1 def does not work with disk saves.

Hopefully they are fixing this going forward, it shouldn't matter which version you play - I can understand region but really they should be encouraging the switch to DD - agreed about the price, very nice (esp as you can generally get PSN credit for ~20% off making it just ~£16 for both :)

cheers, but I'm not even sure that would work anyway - I've tried copying game saves between users on the same console and just get the message that it's protected or someone elses :(
 
Finally bought RDR and Undead Nightmare bundle in the Christmas Offer for $20 ! Had played RDR on a borrowed copy before. The world is just so amazing and wanted to get back in but never really bought it till now.

The bundle is on for an hour more, so get it guys !

This is what I hate about the game-saves thing - this is one game I'd buy digitally as I know I'd always want a copy to hand (and it'll free up shelf space) :(
 
I see you asked on the comments, and they said saves weren't portable. I guess save files are associated with a game executable then, and not a general file structure where games can access other content. Makes sense, but it's a damned nuisance!

well they said they didn't think they were - unless I just read it too positively, I certainly didn't appreciate the comment about me starting them again...if they had released these day one I wouldn't have even bothered with the disk!

it's the same with RDR - man I hate all this game save protection BS - IMHO a game is a game regardless of it being 1st release, plat version, GotY edition, digital or whatever - the saves SHOULD work - what if I buy a game and love it so much I want to upgrade to the ultra expensive edition? I have to start again?

Frankly it's a joke, they are trying to push people to digital so game save compatability is a must.

Lots of games on discount on PSN till 11 jan. any suggestions regarding which ones should be picked up ? Sme of them areally cheap like Hydrphobia prophecy for just (around)$2.50 !
Is it any good ?
