PSN weekly updates

Heads-up for all the PS+ members (which right now should be pretty everyone with a PS3): if you haven't bought it already, you can now add Braid to your collection for 2,50€.

How do i get a 1080P output in Beyond Good & Evil HD? If I have all resolutions checked, I get 720P. If I remove 720P from the check box I get 576P. And I can not uncheck 576P.

You are not alone to be dissappointed by these HD remakes, I was also appalled to see the Sly Trilogy run at 720p only. Though the game was super fun, I was expecting crisp 1080p gfx.

What's Homefront ?

Patsu !!!!!!!!! its a game which sold more than Crysis 2 during their first month of launch !

Well, its a shooter by Kaos studios, people who made Frontlines, in which Korea attacks the US. I am sure you are aware of the game, maybe just forgot the name.

I don't usually care about sales. I do post sales articles sometimes since some people seem to be interested in them.

What's unique about the game ?

Wouldn't really say that. They have put in a lot of hardwork in their MP, and I think it shows too. Just not marketed as well as COD, I guess. ;)

Didn't DICE do the multiplayer, completely separate from the single player? To the point where the games were basically running completely different engines, with the Homefront MP basically the Battlefield online engine?

So yeah, I'm sure the multiplayer was good. Now they're trying again with Battlefield 3, and that game is being marketed with some big bucks by EA, judging by how many ads I see for it for a month now almost and so far away from release still.

If it was just the marketing though, who knows. Compared to the reviews, the sales were still pretty big so there definitely was some marketing effect. ;)

I think you are confusing Homefront with Medal Of Honour ;) ! Homefront is completely by Kaos and runs on UE3.

On PSN, I tried the Limbo trail and Dude, I am completely sold ! Its so serene , awesome and beautiful !:p But the bad part is that I went to the Store to buy it but the damn store won't give me my PS+ discount :( !!!!!!! As soon as I click on buy, it just shows me the full amount! I am still a PS+ member from my free 30day membership, but LIMBO won't let me have my cake and eat it !

Anybody else faced this problem?

The story upset a few people with it's potentially true scenario. It's written by Jon Milhouse (the guy who did Apocalypse Now), and is based upon North Korea reaching ascendancy whilst America suffers a crippling financial meltdown and whilst their back are turned Korea hits them with a huge EMP and then invades.

You play as part of a rag tag defence team attempting to meet up with the remains of the army to try and hit back at the invaders.

It looks quite pretty, and has a good sound track, and, if you ignore how far fetched it is, has a good storyline. The AI is dumb though and can be annoying and the on screen messages manage to ruin the ambiance. The online was a saviour though.

I just grabbed Limbo as well and it certainly is awesome. That said, it immediately made me think of a handful of LBP levels I have played and I would not be surprised if this game could be done entirely within LBP2.

Cheers

There are some Limbo imitations on LBP2 that are very close indeed to the original. I played the original on the 360, but I had to abandon it because I have a three year old and it is just too uncomfortable and depressing to play (even if at least in the demo I generally manage to avoid most traps). All the time I spend with him I'm constantly on the lookout of the type of things that have a similar or worse effect than many of the things that threaten the kid in this game. No question though that the game has great atmosphere, through animation, art and sound, and the puzzles are generally quite satisfying.

Argh, that's too bad. The premise sounds interesting !

I should try Limbo when I get back.

Has anyone bought Section 8 Prejudice? I feel like buying it but first hand experiences would help. And anyways wouldn't want to buy an MP game if no one is playing ! Whats the B3D verdict on it ?
I think u get the original Section8 free if u buy it now !

I was thinking of double dipping on the PS3, but if it's anything like what happened on the 360 version, the player base will shrink to only the dedicated rather quickly.

Fun game, probably the closest thing to Tribes on consoles yet, and it has some interesting twists on the large scale combat genre. However I don't think it has widespread mass appeal so the player base suffers because of this.

If you have a few friends who'll get it with you, then it might be worth it, otherwise I would just try the demo and see if it offers online play to see if people are playing it.
