[PS3] Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

The Museum is boring and well worth missing.

I don't think it's boring. There's a lot of good stuff in there, if you're into development, how and why things are cut or chosen, and a lot of things that didn't make it into the game (as well as some interesting tid bits with regards to other random things in the game).

I spent about 10 minutes in the Insomniac Musuem before I had to go to bed. I haven't seen all yet. There was one mini-game that caught my attention. It's the "build your own monsters and go fight other monsters" game.

I think it would be a splendid addition to R3, together with the weapon wheel. Obviously, Hale is no longer a human. But the ability to piece monsters together and direct them to fight should make things interesting (remember the Chimeran Angels ?). I think the start of R3 should be
Hale putting himself back together after getting shot by Capelli

It would be like Portable Ops, where Snake built his own private army by kidnapping and persuading enemy soldiers to join him. The bots would solve a couple of common MP issues too.

Plus, it would make the already stellar R2 co-op godly.

Played the Clank demo too. I am surprised but I liked it a lot. Ratchet demo is more fun and fast but this demo is cool too. Thank god they sped up clank a little, he was too slow to be enjoyable last time. I liked the puzzles too !

I find the gameplay improvements over TOD to be huge and all for the better. The Ratchet demo was fun compared to the TOD which was intersting to me only because I wanted to see what the next planet looks like. This time the actual gameplay is fun too :) (TOD felt too passive to me, nothing really that needed to be done in it.).

I think I'll get this game sometime soon !

Yes, I feel that ACiT is noticeably better than ToD and QfB too. But I missed some of the mini-games in ToD, like the decryptor.

Patch is out for those who are interested, lots of bug fixes.

Edit: Man, I need to stop leaving the browser open. Didn't refresh before I posted, lol.

1.20 Release Note:

RCF2 Patch 1.20 Bug Fixes:

* Fixed a bug after finishing the game that wouldn’t allow the player to be able to select between going back in time and starting challenge mode *if* they defeated Vorselon 3 before defeating Azimuth.

* Fixed a bug where the player would load into Great Clock 1 after defeating Azimuth and initially selecting “Challenge Mode” and then backing out of the Save Game menu.

* Fixed a bug where the player cannot select to go back in time after selecting to restart in challenge mode and then backing out of the save.

* Fixed a bug where the player wouldn’t be able to damage Libra or Carina during the boss fights.

* Fixed a bug where the player cannot receive the Good Samaritan Trophy. The Smuggler may disappear if players acquire the RYNO V before completing all of his quests, making it impossible to achieve the trophy. Effected players can equip the RYNO V to automatically complete any remaining Smuggler quests, and receive the trophy.

* FOR PLAYERS WHO HAVE A BUGGED CHALLENGE MODE SAVE DUE TO ONE OF THE PREVIOUS CHALLENGE MODE SAVE BUGS ONLY: Load your save game, and press the follow sequence of buttons in-game (will not work on the pause menu): Up + Up + Down + Down + L3 + Square + Circle + Square + Circle + R3. This will reset you to the beginning of challenge mode with all of your current weapons, bolts, XP etc intact so that you can continue the game.

Spared the game for my holidays and started playing it yesterday...first impression was very underwhelming (first Clank level graphics were at most ok-ish and gameplay as well) but then the first Rachet level just hit me like a horse: phantastic graphics, brutal deatail (is this some kind of homage to UC and ND? I thought that even the soundtrack in this first level give me Uncharted vibes?!) and actually I had one or two laughs...I am not to far into the game, but really happy with it so far (but I definitely like the RAchet parts more than the Clank parts)!

I had to put this game on hold for a while... got about 2 hours in, but I actually enjoyed the Clank parts (not as much as the Ratchet parts mind you).

really!? I suppose that you like the time puzzle mechanics (I am alwys afraid that I don't solve them :LOL:)
I am really a fan of all this crazy weapons! And upgrading weapons/ finding new weapons is the best thing a game could offer me - so Rachet part for me!
But with respect to Rachet gameplay, I am neutral regarding the space ship parts.

Played the demo today and I thought it was pretty good :D Never liked the demo for the previous game. I wish I didn't spend my money on other games in fall, I'd totally buy this.

Well, I completed the game last week and really enjoyed. A proper, good Ratchet & Clank game. Some will hate me for saying this though, but I thought Tools of Destruction was a better game. I feel it had more content (okay, I didn't visit all the moons yet, but then, I don't see them as a central part of the game), liked the weapons better, the whole pirates theme was really great and the gameplay/worlds more memorable and interesting. Not to say CiT was a bad game, it's great game. I just think between great games, ToD gets the nod.

And Insomniac so have to keep this at 60fps. It just wouldn't be the same anymore.

Finished the game yesterday: very good game! Graphics are a mixed bag: sometimes they look really great, sometimes (mostly Clank parts) aliasing makes it a little bit harde on the eyes and it looks rather ok-ish then.

What I really love is that it actually has humor! The only game I remember which makes me laugh is Conker Reloaded (or whats it called) - but in this game I really had to laugh and smirk a lot - great!

It took me about 9h30min to finish the game..I think it is ok for a R&C game, as usually you have to play the game a second time to get all weopons upgraded.

Gameplay was very satisfied and varied, although on the medium difficulty boss battles were very easy, except the very last one which took me some trials until I succeded.

All in all, as expected, a very good game!

Very good game. I enjoyed the ending, although I will say I thought Dr. Nefarious was too easy, especially considering he is probably the best/most memorable villian in the series.

Did you guys collect everything ? Besides Demon's Souls, R&C is the only game I bother to collect stuff. I am only missing 6 bolts.

Yep, I think Dr Nefarious was really to easy compared to admiral azimuth or what he's called...but you are right: Dr. Nefarious is a great character!

No, not yet...I am thinking about a second playthrough to get the weapons to the max...like I did in ToD, but at the moment there are a lot of other games waiting for me as well :)

I picked this up with Tekken 6 and got distracted ever since, so I continued playing it yesterday and wow. I agree that the game is graphically a bit uneven but at its apex, it's quite beautiful with lots of high res textures with good variety (and a surprising amount of transparencies... how on earth are they doing this?).

After ToD's relatively easy adventure, they went all out and I personally rank this up there with Up Your Arsenal.

It's hard to imagine this series to run at 30Hz. Granted it's not consistent 60Hz now but it's always nice to see developers opting for that instead of coping out for more visual gloss.
