... kiddo,RSX is not a G70.

Learn to read, I said G70 performance, I didn't say RSX was a G70. Its most likely a G71 varient but its closest performance comparison is the G70 based GTX 512 going off all available information.

Show some proof to the contrary or don't bother replying.

Oh my god! They don't look like graphics from a video game at all!
They look like paintings.

If the final game indeed will deliver visuals of that calibre, I'm very impressed!
It looks like I must revise my thoughts about "next gen" after seeing these.
I had already lowered my expectations quite a bit, but these restore my faith that these new machines will make my jaw drop after all!

Can't wait to fly and explore that futuristic city (I know few of those buildings will be enterable, and you'll possibly be limited as to where you can fly, if anywhere... but still. I loved R&C games this gen (not the last "arena" type game though) and I'm glad to see the franchise returning with PS3. )

I hope that's the game engine and not a cut scene. :)

Other than that, where's the video? Hopefully it's silky smooth. :)

Me too. I would love for the 4th Ratchet and Clank to be more of a sandbox exactly like GTA. I would love to just rome around that Futurma city for hours doing nothing.

I know what you mean, but pre-rendered has never really been Insomniac's MO in the past (even using their own engine for cut-scenes). Plus I dont think they'd bother with an off line render for a "behind closed doors" audience like the GDC, or much less for a keynote where the rest of the footage was real-time and the overall theme being development and technology on the new platform. So Im optimistic. :)

Seeing as how they've collaborated with Naughty Dog in the past on engine and technology, I wouldn't be surprised if this demo was running on some form of their next gen joint venture. And collectively those guys are pretty much wizards.

Look what we have here.

- Xbox 360 is a contender for #1 console market share. That scares Sony.
- Oblivion is a killer app for Xbox 360. Reviews and impressions have been great.
- Factor 5 is developing a game exclusively for PS3 and published by Sony.

[removed the personal remarks]
Despite the fact that anything a guy posts in his blog isn't the company he works for's opinion anyway, Worch's comments are mostly on the money; I have Oblivion, and am loving it (a whole ton, in fact), but the first hour or so was generall disappointment at the graphics not being what I perceived them as having been promised to be.

To suggest an ulterior motive is asinine. The fact that someone working for Factor 5 was disappointed by another game's graphics (same genre or not) is neither here nor there. If Factor 5 as a company had put out a press release, then there might be something worth saying. Otherwise you're adding up 2 and 2 and getting 5 as far as I'm concerned.

It was realtime.

I'm 99% sure the R&C footage was realtime.. well actually it was shown on video, but like liverkick said, I don't think Insomniac has ever resorted to CG in any of their games?

I got a kick at the keynote when the Insomniac guy said "oh we have this other untitled game in production, and we don't have a publisher yet" .. and then he shows R&C :) Must be SO DAMN hard to get SCE to publish it ;)

Someone got a series of shots from Motorstorm and has kind of pieced them together into an animation:

Shows a bike and truck, looks good, the mud splashing looks very nice :)

The stills can be gotten here for another buggy sequence:

You can open up the first in Windows picture viewer, and just keep your finger on the right arrow key to cycle through the photos in an animation.

There are other archives with series of shots from other demos, but the link to them is down at the moment :( Here's a couple of new shots from Lair, though:

The Motorstorm at GDC demo was quite impressive, although it was absolutely nothing like the CG clip they've shown before. But then again I doubt no-one really thought that was realtime anyway, except that short in-game part in the middle.

Back to R&C for a bit, looking at the highres caps it's actually quite lowpoly (e.g. check the tunnel in the beginning, the walls and the plants have very visible edges) so there's no reason to believe it's not realtime. Probably others noticed this too but I noticed it just now :)

Motor Storm looks great in that clip, and it'll only look better clipping along @ 60fps at E3 :D

I wonder what Evo have got cooking for the online mode. Anyway, it's a day one purchase along with War Hawk.
