problems with my 360

i can't tell if the problems i am experiencing are just random occurances, or if something is really wrong with my system.

here they are, in order of appearence.

1st - DOA4 locked up on me a few weeks ago during story mode. i couldn't do anything, couldn't even turn the controller on or off.

2nd - a few nights after DOA4 crash, my fight night round 3 profile became "damaged and unusable" according to the message that popped up when i started the game. (only my 2nd or 3rd time playing it)

now, i keep having reoccuring problem with my gamerscore showing 0, when it should read 1480. whenever this happens, i will restart my console, and the gamerscore will be back to normal again. but after a few minutes of cruising the dashboard, the gamerscore will show 0 again. it is now doing this everytime.

should i call tech support and explain to them the problems i am having? is there any way they can even diagnose this?

If youve got one, i'd guess this is a dodgy hard drive. Your saves, profiles, and XBL accounts are all on there. Give MS a call, their customer service is great.

I've read about some problems concerning DOA4. If you want to play the game, be sure to first boot the x360 and then insert the game. If the game boots faster than the system, it won't find your saved data and it can even overwrite it.

The disc tray on my 360 sometimes sticks when trying to retract it back into the console. I have to give it a tap to get it unstuck again. And people complain about the PS2 optical drive... Hmff! Not only is this bastard noisy as f---, it's cheap too!

I wonder if the auto-update for DOA4 fixes this issue?

That's interesting... a game booting up faster than the OS. The machine should have a set boot order then or at least introduce a delay because DOA4 probably won't be the last game to boot quicker if the disc is in the drive.

How is this even possible? Doesnt the OS boot first for system check and disc authencity before the actual game is then given the flag to load?

I think what he meant was that the game loads faster than your profile does. With auto sign on it takes about 5 seconds after the system blades come up to actually log on. Most games for the 360 would have loaded by then, causing your profile to not be used.

How could an obvious blunder such as that possibly slip through the quality assurance process:?: That's rediculous, especially considering they actually delayed the game before releasing it...

Yep, that's what I meant.

The problem is that when you turn on your 360 with DOA already in the drive, the game will sometimes boot up before your XB profile has a chance to load. The game reads that there is no DOA4 data on the profile (since the profile isn't fully loaded yet), and automatically auto-saves as if it was the first time you played the game.

Now Tecmo is working on a patch to fix the problem, but in the mean while, GO THROUGH THESE STEPS EVERY TIME YOU PLAY DOA4 TO AVOID THIS HAPPENING TO YOU!!!

1. If the game is already in the drive, turn on your 360 with the open tray button.

2. Wait until your profile loads and you see all of your info on the gamer-card (to be on the safe side I would do some other stuff while still on the dashboard like looking at your achievements and games save just to ensure that the profile is fully loaded. Tecmo didn't tell me this, just my suggestion. I know I will be doing it.)

3.Put DOA4 in the tray and close it.

well, i called tech support and they had me do an account recovery to fix the problem with my gamerscore reverting back to 0. it seems to have worked, so far.

but today, i was having increasing problems with my wireless controllers locking up. i had a friend over and we were playing PD0 split screen, and after one match, the only button on my controller that would work was the guide button. everything else was useless. so i restarted the system, and both controllers were working again. so we played another match, and after this one, the same exact thing happened to my other wireless controller that my friend was using. only the guide button would work on it. wtf bill?

Give the console back if you can and forget about it.

definitly call support . these problems you described arent normal.
i dont have problems now, i just sold my xbox360 ;) ... was collecting dust like there was no tomorow.

Did the ring thing that's normally green turn red. I remember hearing that if they turn red that there's a certain problem, and that different problems have different patterns of flashing. I don't remember the patterns but I'm sure that they are listed in your manual.

Holy crap, I just remembered you from Opa-Age. My nintenho account got banned over their, guess who I am now.

What is opa-age and which way is it biased?
Well, do you know what gaming-age is? I think the way the story goes is that Opa was a sega ****** on GA and got banned for going crazy and trolling or something around the time the dreamcast died so he started a forum wher "anything goes". Basically, it's a bunch of racists and ******s spamming the forum with their angst and porn and whatnot. Obviously, you have to register for the forums to view them because of the content. I got banned because when a poster that goes between both GA and OA and is hated on both was inconvenienced by the fact that naked pictures of his girlfriend that he sold to another poster for a PSP somehow found their way onto a porn site, were found by a GA mod, and the mod started a thread on OA asking if they were that poster's girlfriend since that poster is an attention whore who posted pictures of his girlfriend in every page of the post your pictures thread so everybody knew her face well. A shitstorm ensues and some real bastards post those pictures on that girl's myspace and xanga, which were promptly taken down. Anyways, since a mod started the topic on OA, I asked the mod why was my account banned and he went through the trouble to get me back into GA. When I asked the mod though, one of the OA posters asked if I really really wanted to go onto such strict site. I told him of course I would because the OA forum is such a striptease ballet of perversion, and I got banned a few minutes later.
