So thats kinda new in a Doom3 engine powered game isnt it? Daylight  And what do ya know, it looks good.

The overall game graphics soo far IMO look amazing.

in the first pic you are flying a craft and that is a moon ahead. and yes its a full moon, you can slide onto it and jump and land on it and avoid weapon fire by tricking the bots to crash into the moon with some gravity trick

I do not know specifically about Prey, but the Quake IV devs said there would be no cutbacks/detail reduction in Q4 for the 360. Since Prey uses the same engine and is targetting the PC in a similar time frame I think it is safe to assume that the PC/360 versions should be very similar.

Which is not a surprise considering Xenos is more powerful than current desktop GPUs and 512MB of memory in a dedicated box allows for a lot of flexibility (streaming + take advantage of stuff like 3Dc for normal maps, which Prey uses a lot of).

so finally PCs will get 'watered' down versions of consoles atleast till 2007

Are you sure that the xenos is more powerful than current PCs, more efficient maybe but what about that lost in shading power due to the inclusion of the edram? :)

inclusion of EdRam is only for AA the shader is upgraded like any next generation graphics card

Overall impressive. A little better than Doom III, overall.
Looks alot better than doom3 to me. I didn't even know that the doom engine could render a bird like the one in that pic.

Just poking fun of those that reason that since the edram was included sacrifices had to be made in shader performance.

Edram was only made so that no performance hit would take place while Anti Aliasing , if there is a performance hit the purpose of Edram is negated

It's pretty much impossible to objectively compare the Xenos with current PC hardware as its the first chip in years to try something truly different and was also designed specifically with a console in mind. Most people here seem to expect its going to be a pretty good contender to RSX though, which in turn is said to be faster than the current king of PC hardware, the G70.

So Xenos is probably right up there with what's going to be available as single-chip cards towards the end of the year, especially once you add the "free AA" and consider the advantages of a closed system. Add to that that a X360 plus 2-3 games will be cheaper to pick up than any one such card and you got yourself a pretty awesome deal. ;)

I would hope the 360 version would look better than this. The lighting isn't organic enough IMO. And I'd expect more geometry. It's only a few screens, but PC games still very much look the part. I expect 360 games will look much better for some time. PEACE.
