Almost everything was fake or scrapped due deadlines.
Does someone still has the renders of Dropship, the getaway and movie footage of TTT and The bouncer when they were presented to the press? Or does someone knows the location of a website that contains these things?
I just want to see the differences between the 'planned' and 'actual' games

still, when i saw the tech demo on PS2 with the rubber duck in the sink full of water, now that was cool, i thought that was photorealistic. and since then we've seen MUCH better representations of water on PS2 (BGA, ICO, Splashdown especially)
the ONLY demo which can still look pretty impressive is the "Find my own way" demo in the CD that came with PS2 at launch. i popped it in last night, and still i was in awe.... unbelievable... it's just.... unbelievable... the amount of particles flying around is... unbelievable...
Both Bouncer and TTT were improved dramatically from their early showing graphically(Bouncer especially). When PS2 was unveiled there were some games showed like TTT, The Bouncer, dropship(?) and The Getaway. Actually, GT3 on it's night/wet track looks prety much like that 3rd screen (if you watch a replay where it sometimes adds the motion blur).Well, we're still waiting for the first 3 shots. Maybe PS3
ZoE2?we should have games using effects like these, or at least retaining the atmosphere, the overall "look"...

I never forget those funny times.

This contains the original footage shown at the PS2 unveiling. (Direct feed)
I can assure you that the finished game is far superior to the original demo and surpasses it in everyway.
It is unfortuate that the developer had to remove the interaction with the scenery due to pressure to get the game released. I believe if this feature had been included in the game's reputation would be much higher.

btw, the trailer that comes when you insert the disc has a short clip of footage from Oddworld and Gran Turismo clips look terrible with awful jaggies, almost like a PSOne game Fortunately the released GT3 looked nothing like it.
Even though tech demos do not represent what we'd see in games, it'd be great to have them for example in magazine coverdvd's.
I was hoping, I could use this one dayBerserk said:Micrsoft came with a big briefcase of money and Lorne Lanning siad that the PS2 was too difficult to program for (but the graphics on it looked wonderful!!??
[URL said:http://cube.ign.com/articles/086/086984p1.html[/URL]]Jason Rubin believes that there are ways around PlayStation 2's difficulties for development houses that are willing to put the time and effort into the system. He suggests that only lazy software companies will give up on the console in favor of X-Box or Gamecube, and that perhaps PS2 is better off without them. "If you're a lazy developer, you probably also haven't been a very good selling developer, that's my opinion," says Rubin. "I'll give you an example: Oddworld Inhabitants. 'Oh, this is too hard, we can't handle it!' I mean, these guys have never done 3D before! Who are they to whine? I mean, they literally have not done 3D before -- they skipped the training, and are now jumping to the 3D world. They skipped the whole last generation effectively, and they're whining. You know, those guys couldn't get it working on the PS2 and they were trying to use someone else's engine because they can't even program 3D engines. They did all of these mock-ups in 3D Studio, which is a pixel engine. None of these systems are pixel engines, they're all polygons. Not only Nintendo Gamecube and PS2, but also the X-Box, so it's not going to change for them. But they did get six extra months to have it come out, so good luck to them. I have a saying around here -- I give 70/30 that the game ever comes out, and 30/70 that they make any other games from now on."
Well, it really isn't footage, it might as well be just a still picture.Berserk said:rabidrabbit said:I also tried the Find My Own Way demo on PS2, and it really has nice efects, especially the water and the 'flaming heads'. Oh really?? i have an European PS2 and I also have the demo that comes with it with "The Find My Own way" techdemo but I haven't seen anyting of Oddworld.
Speaking of Oddworld why are Oddworld Inhabitants only developing their games for the Xbox now?? Did Microsoft buy them or do they own the exclusive rights? I still don't know for sure.
Damn Munch's oddysee was already in full development for the PS2 and it looked gorgeous on the numerous screens and videos of the PS2 version wich looked as beautiful (or even more!) than the Xbox version. But then Micrsoft came with a big briefcase of money and Lorne Lanning siad that the PS2 was too difficult to program for (but the graphics on it looked wonderful!!?? )
....
They made a deal with Microsoft to develop 4 Oddworld games for them, and got money to do that.Speaking of Oddworld why are Oddworld Inhabitants only developing their games for the Xbox now?? Did Microsoft buy them or do they own the exclusive rights? I still don't know for sure.
