Pixel Shader 2.0 gaming roundup

I looked around for a similar discussion but could not find one. Please forgive me if this has been covered already.

According to my limited research there seem to be only four games available for the PC that use Pixel Shader 2.0 or above.

-Halo
-Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness
-Far Cry
-Homeworld 2

Anyone know of any others? Are there any PS2.0 games coming out soon? Like from now through August?

Splinter cell pandora tomorrow, collin mcrae rally 04, Need for speed Underground,

thats all I can think of right now.

Need for speed Underground

What DX9 PS 2.0 effects does this game use?
I can't think of any games at all apart from maybe HL2 if it ever sees light of day BEFORE August :)

Deus Ex2 alegedly uses some sort of DX9 features..
Dunno if you would call it a PS2.0 game tho..

I hear BattleField Vietnam is also using Dx9, havent checked up on that tho..

But most of them are coming up, always takes some time for standard to be adopted, and games take a few years to make...

painkiller,dx2,nfsu,cmr4 neither of them use ps2.0 or higher

I'm pretty sure CMR4 uses PS 2.0 cause it was one of the games that ATI was showing off and claiming that the X800 had 2-3x the performance of the 9800xt.

it doesn't i've checked but the x800 can still be 2-3 faster than the 9800xt

That's something that I've always wondered about. What's the easiest, if there even is one, way of telling if a game is DX9 or not?

I could swear NFSU used ps2.0 with everything on high on the reflections but nothing else? I could be wrong though... I think your right about cmr4 though now that I look around it dont seem to support ps2.0

NFSU uses PS2.0 for it's water effects, I know that for a fact. Painkiller for the same reason, possibly some other effects. The game that uses the most DX9 shaders currently is Far Cry. HL2 is supposed to use more then five times as many shaders as Far Cry.

Halo, Tomb Raider, SC Pandora Tomorrow and Deus Ex 2 all use a very limited amount.

Painkiller? I'd argue about this 8)

To the best of my knowledge it's using DX9 renderer but that's about it. Water definitely not using PS 2.0

nfsu,painkiller = no ps2.0

Deus Ex2 uses DirectX 8.1 - that's why you can't have the bloom effect and FSAA :(
