If you read the original book "First Blood", Rambo is actually killed at the end. There was even an alternate ending in the movie where he gets killed (effectively forces his commander to shoot him), but I guess the American audience didn't like that ending and it would not allow the several trashy sequels they eventually made.

I thought Stalone wasn't bad in Demolition Man, Daylight, Assassins and Cliffhanger and even the Specialists, but they are all films that make use of his limited abilities and are really carried by much better actors around him.

Any good points he gets are unfortunatley more than wiped out by stinkers like Rambo 3, Tango & Cash, Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot, etc... even Judge Dredd which just needed a script pulled from the comics and worked well stylistically was ruined by yet another poor script adaptation from Hollywood.

I think Kingdom Come is still the best comic book i have ever read in my life, among the specials i guess. It's just perfect.

Yes. Absolutely. It's extremely well done.

But it made me wonder. I am not sure how I feel about the morals of the story, or a culture that proclaims those as high ones. I feel much better about Watchmen. But that's probably me.

Btw, that is not meant to single out one nation, but rather the reaction of the readers to the story.
